The two of them stood up and took their leave of Miguel, saying they would probably set out and leave Creek City in another two or three days.
That was well within Miguel's expectations.
"Commander Hayes, I know you and your people are heading north. You'll definitely need a lot of supplies. If you have the time, you could actually make a slight detour and go to LMA next door."
"Before Creek City was completely sealed off, we kept hearing that security over in LMA was pretty good. The local military didn't abandon the city after the disaster—they stayed and continued to govern it. One of my nephews serves in the army there. I think the military government in LMA might be able to offer you some assistance."
Hayes knew that Miguel still felt apologetic about the underground resources he had originally promised them falling through.
