Chapter 53 - Chapter 48 — The First (PUBLIC) Evolution

Today needed something different. Something symbolic. Something that showed India the core truth about Pokémon:

Growth. Progress. Evolution.

I walked straight to the lake.

The water was unnaturally calm thanks to Arcanine's presence. Even the Staryu stayed underwater, pretending they didn't exist.

Then—SPLOOSH!

A familiar blue figure burst out of the surface, landing right in front of me.

Poliwhirl.

He pointed at me—then flexed—then pointed at the sky.

I smiled.

"You want to fight Pidgeotto again?"

"Whirl!!!"(Obviously!!)

"But not today."

He froze mid-flex.

I crouched.

"Poliwhirl… do you want to evolve?"

Poliwhirl blinked.

Once.

Twice.

Then his entire body trembled as he nodded vigorously—arms spinning like windmills.

"Alright then," I said. "But I need your help with two things before that."

He leaned forward attentively.

"One—bring me a Shellder that wants to evolve.

Like the one attached to Slowbro's tail."

Poliwhirl's eyes went wide.

Then he slapped his belly proudly—THWAP!—and dove back into the lake with a splash.

Five minutes later—

SPLOOSH!

He resurfaced holding a small, purple, sharp-edged shell that clicked aggressively at everything.

A Shellder.

Perfect.

I called Imran over.

"Imran," I said, placing the Shellder carefully on the grass. "This little guy wants to evolve. And it wants a trainer."

Imran's eyes widened.

"F–For me?"

Shellder spat a jet of water at his boot.

I chuckled.

"He likes you. Probably."

Imran deadpanned.

"I'll take that as a yes."

"Get familiar," I said. "You two will train together."

Shellder clicked approvingly.

Next, I waved Arjun over.

"Machop is ready to evolve. It needs one more push."

Arjun grinned, already rolling his shoulders.

"I was hoping you'd say that."

Machop marched forward confidently.

Poliwhirl twirled his fists.

A perfect matchup.

Behind us, Ritu prepared the livestream setup.

I nodded at her.

"Start it."

Livestream Begins

Millions of viewers across India had barely recovered from the law announcements, the Education reforms, and the Pokémon Academy reveal.

Now another notification popped up:

🔴 AakashPatil_Official is LIVE

Within seconds—The chat exploded.

[Chat]

HE'S BACK

MAHARASHTRA DAY STREAM LET'S GOOO

BRO WHAT ARE WE SEEING TODAY

I faced the camera.

"Hello everyone. Happy Maharashtra Day to all of you."

Arcanine stood behind me like a flaming mountain.

Growlithe formed a semicircle.

Machop and Poliwhirl stood in the center, warming up.

"Today," I continued, "we're going to witness something extremely important. Something most of you haven't seen yet."

I let the words hang for a moment.

"Evolution."

The chat lost its mind.

[Chat]

NO WAY HE'S DOING IT LIVE

BRO EVOLUTION ON STREAM??

THIS IS HISTORIC

I raised my hand.

"I have explained evolution before, but few have seen it clearly. Some trainers have already evolved their Pokémon, but there were no cameras, no scientific documentation."

Pikachu (on Ritu's shoulder) chirped in excitement.

"Today, we will show you how Pokémon evolve. The natural way. Through growth, battles, and experience."

I pointed to the battlefield.

"Before the main demonstration, watch this match."

Machop vs Poliwhirl

Mankey stepped forward willingly to referee.

Machop tightened his fists.

Poliwhirl spun his arms like little turbines.

"Begin!" Mankey declared.

Poliwhirl rushed first, slipping across the wet stones with incredible mobility.

Machop blocked—but the blow staggered him.

Poliwhirl's speed was too high.

"Machop, footwork!" Arjun shouted.

Machop adjusted… but Poliwhirl splashed water across the ground—

And Machop slipped.

"WHIRL!"(Bubble Beam!)

A stream of bubbles hit Machop straight in the chest, pushing him back.

The chat panicked.

[Chat]

MACHOP IS LOSING BRO??

POLIWHIRL TOO FAST

IS THIS FAIR OMG

But Machop didn't give up.

He roared, slammed his fists into the ground, and steadied himself.

Then—He charged.

The two clashed—

Punches blurred

Water splashed

Growlithe barked

But slowly…

Poliwhirl began overwhelming him.

Machop staggered to one knee.

His breathing ragged.

Arjun looked worried.

"Macho—"

And then…

It happened.

Machop's body froze.

A pulse of light burst from his chest.

Then—

He began glowing.

The chat exploded.

[Chat]

HE'S EVOLVING

IT'S HAPPENING

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Machop's small frame expanded—Muscles tightened—Spine lengthened—Arms thickened—

The light intensified—

And then—

WHOOM!

The glow faded.

Standing where Machop once stood was a towering, muscular Machoke, belt gleaming, posture proud.

He flexed once.

The ground shook.

Arcanine let out a low, approving rumble.

Poliwhirl blinked.

"…Whirl?"

Machoke cracked his knuckles.

And then both launched at each other simultaneously.

The final collision sent water splashing across the entire lakeside.

When the dust settled—

Mankey raised both hands.

"Man~key!"(Draw!)

Both Pokémon were on their knees, panting, exhausted… but smiling.

I faced the livestream camera again.

"And that," I said softly, "is evolution through battle experience. The most natural path."

The chat was on fire.

[Chat]

THIS IS THE FIRST EVER RECORDED EVOLUTION

MACHOKE LOOKS INSANE

BRO WE'RE WATCHING HISTORY

THIS STREAM BETTER BE SAVED

I stepped forward and placed a hand on Machoke's arm.

"Well done."

He grinned proudly.

Poliwhirl slapped his belly dramatically.

The Growlithe pack howled.

Machoke was still flexing proudly when I walked over to Poliwhirl.

He stood there breathing hard, tiny fists shaking with adrenaline, spirals on his belly pulsing faster than usual.

I knelt beside him and placed my hand on his shoulder.

Evergreen Power flowed gently—warm, steady—mending bruises, easing muscle strain, restoring his stamina.

Poliwhirl sighed in relief.

"You did great," I said. "Now tell me… are you ready to evolve?"

Poliwhirl froze.

Then nodded slowly.

Then nodded faster.

Then nodded so violently I thought his head would pop off.

Behind us, the Growlithe pack barked in excitement.

The chat exploded again.

[Chat]

HE'S EVOLVING TOO??

WE'RE GETTING TWO EVOLUTIONS??

BRO AAKASH DOESN'T STOP

I stood up, turning the camera slightly so the entire lake and crowd of Pokémon were in view.

"Alright everyone," I said, raising my voice so the viewers—and the Pokémon around me—could hear clearly.

"Now I'll show you the second type of evolution. Something nobody outside my team knows yet."

Even Arcanine lowered his head slightly, listening.

"Some Pokémon don't evolve from battles. They evolve through elemental energy."

Ritu zoomed the camera in.

I reached into my pocket.

Everyone held their breath.

And then—

I took out two crystals.

One blue like rippling ocean water. One orange like concentrated flame.

Beautiful.

Dangerous.

Powerful.

"These," I said, holding them up for the stream, "are Evolution Stones."

Gasps—both from my group and the chat—filled the air.

"They contain concentrated elemental energy. When a compatible Pokémon absorbs it… they evolve instantly."

I glanced at Poliwhirl.

"These stones do not work on every Pokémon. Only certain species can handle this much raw elemental surge."

I pointed at the blue one.

"This is a Water Stone."

Poliwhirl's eyes widened.

I pointed at the orange one.

"And this is a Fire Stone."

Growlithe's tails flickered in anticipation—even Arcanine's mane glowed faintly.

I continued:

"Today we'll witness two evolutions—Poliwhirl and Growlithe."

I heard Ritu gasp softly behind the camera.

I added casually, "Pikachu also evolves with a Thunder Stone."

Both Pikachu froze.

Looked at each other.

Then looked at me in sheer panic.

I laughed.

"But not today. They're still too young.

And as trainers, you must always consider your Pokémon's wishes about evolving."

The Pikachu sighed in relief.

Even the chat laughed.

[Chat]

BRO PIKACHU SAID 'NOT TODAY THANKS'

POOR BABIES GOT SCARED

Aakash trolling his Pikachus again 💀

Now that the tension had drained, I stepped closer to Poliwhirl.

"Alright everyone…"I lifted the Water Stone toward him.

His eyes sparkled.

His spiral brightened.

His fists clenched.

"In front of all of world—Poliwhirl will now evolve."

I placed the Water Stone gently into his hands.

The reaction was instant.

A burst of blue-white light erupted from his body.

WHOOM!

Water surged around him in a swirling vortex.

The lake rippled violently.

The Growlithe pack backed up in awe.

Poliwhirl's silhouette expanded—

Arms thickening

Torso widening

Spiral tightening into a perfect circle

Legs solidifying

Muscles forming like coils of rope

The glow intensified—

Then shattered outward in a blast of energy.

When the light faded…

Standing before us was a massive, muscular amphibian with fists like hammers and eyes filled with fierce determination.

Poliwrath.

A living powerhouse.

He stomped once—THUD!

The ground shook.

The chat exploded.

[Chat]

HOLY—POLIWRATH LOOKS LIKE A UFC CHAMPION

IS THIS LEGAL?? BRO IS HUGE

THIS THING COULD BEAT ME AND MY ANCESTORS

I placed a hand on Poliwrath's arm.

"Everyone," I said, smiling,

"Meet Poliwrath—Fighting and Water-type Pokémon, known for power, stamina, and unwavering discipline."

Poliwrath crossed his arms proudly, chest out, ready for the world.

Poliwrath was still flexing.

Hard.

He kept slapping his biceps, showing off the new power in his arms. Machoke didn't back down either—he flexed right back, veins bulging, posing like a bodybuilder in a championship final.

Mankey watched them both with pure envy.He struck a pose of his own.

It was terrible.

Even Greninja in a coma wouldn't have been impressed.

I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"Alright, enough," I muttered.

But honestly? The audience loved it. The Growlithe pack barked approvingly. Even Arcanine—the leader—was watching with a surprisingly amused glint.

Now for the next step.

I turned around.

"Mama!" I called.

PI Kadam—Mama to me—stepped forward with his Growlithe trotting faithfully at his side.

The little fire pup's tail was wagging aggressively—like he somehow sensed what was coming.

I pulled out the Fire Stone.

The chat went silent instantly.

The air changed.

"Mama," I said softly, handing him the crystal. "This is between you and him."

He nodded, expression serious.

He knelt down in front of Growlithe.Growlithe sat straight.Eyes bright.Chest puffed with pride.

They held each other's gaze for a long second—long enough for anyone watching to feel the weight of the bond between them.

Then Mama gently pressed the Fire Stone to Growlithe's forehead.

The reaction was immediate.

FOOOOOSH!

Growlithe burst into brilliant orange light.

Flames spiraled upward like a miniature firestorm.

Dust swirled.

Wind tore across the ground.

Even Poliwrath stopped flexing.

The glow intensified—Expanded—And with a final, blinding flash—

A majestic Arcanine emerged.

Tall.

Powerful.

Radiating heat and nobility.

Slightly smaller than the Zone Leader Arcanine nearby, but still towering over every trainer except me.

Both Arcanine—Leader and newly evolved—lifted their heads to the sky.

And roared.

A deep, thunderous roar that shook the ground and sent waves rippling across the lake.

The Growlithe pack howled in response, their voices a chorus of pride and respect.

Mama stood frozen.

Arcanine stepped toward him…Lowered his head…And gently gripped Mama's jacket between his teeth.

Before anyone could react—

WHOOSH—

Arcanine lifted Mama onto his back like he weighed nothing.

Mama let out a startled yelp that quickly turned into laughter.

Arcanine barked proudly…

…and sprinted.

He dashed across the lakeside clearing, looping around the open field with Mama holding onto his mane like a child on the world's fastest rollercoaster.

Everyone clapped and cheered.

Even the police officers behind us grinned—some jealous, some emotional.

I smiled.

A good ending for the evolutions of the day.

I looked at the camera.

"This concludes the stream."

And I ended it.

The screen went dark—But the excitement in the air didn't fade.

Not even a little.
