If one had never faced the Flying Thunder God Technique before, that would be one thing.
But Garp had not only faced it, he had personally broken the Second Hokage's Flying Thunder God Slash.
Logically speaking, he should be extremely familiar with the terrifying speed of Flying Thunder God.
And yet, Garp still did exactly as he pleased.
He remained sprawled over the chair without the slightest intention of getting up, and even continued to let Tsunade and Kushina on his back keep enjoying their "benefits."
The more Minato thought about this, the more uneasy he became.
"Minato… are you serious?"
Seeing that Minato didn't look like he was joking at all, Jiraiya was deeply shocked.
Although he had just reminded Minato not to underestimate the enemy, he still had tremendous confidence in Minato's speed.
After all, even though the Third Great Ninja War had been brought to an end by Garp alone, that didn't affect Minato's reputation as the fastest shinobi in the ninja world, nor his title as the Yellow Flash.
It was just that his fame, achievements, and status weren't as high as in the original timeline.
"Jiraiya-sensei, of course I'm serious.
You should know me well, I'm not the kind of person who's arrogant, conceited, or looks down on everything.
For Lord Garp to force me to this extent… to be honest, I really don't have any confidence right now."
Minato nodded solemnly.
"Then what do we do?"
Jiraiya couldn't help but tense up.
"Things have already reached this point, what choice do I have?
Of course I'll go all out.
Besides, Jiraiya-sensei, you don't need to worry too much.
This isn't a fight to the death. Even though what I'm carrying is a bit heavy, if I lose, I'll just leave immediately and stop disturbing Lord Garp's peace."
After saying that, Minato clenched his Flying Thunder God kunai and walked to a position twenty meters in front of Garp.
"Lord Garp, shall we begin?"
Minato steadied his breathing, his eyes locked tightly onto Garp, who was lying on the chair.
"Suit yourself."
Garp kept his eyes closed, not even bothering to lift his eyelids.
As soon as Minato spoke, he raised his hand and hurled the Flying Thunder God kunai.
In an instant, the kunai that had just left his hand flew to within less than half a meter of Garp's face.
"Flying Thunder God, huh?
After Tobirama… I really haven't seen this in a long time."
Garp let out a soft sigh and then, unhurriedly, reached out toward the Flying Thunder God kunai.
However, just as his palm was about to touch it, Minato, who had been twenty meters away, vanished into thin air.
Like a golden flash freely traversing space and time, he appeared in an instant above the kunai, his right hand lunging straight for Garp's throat.
Garp didn't get up. He didn't even open his eyes.
He merely flicked a single finger.
As his index finger cut through the air, it stirred up a violent airflow that swept the oncoming kunai away.
At the same time, his finger stopped above his head and lightly tapped.
"Hmph!"
Minato, together with the kunai he had thrown, was sent flying backward almost one after the other.
"How is that possible?"
Jiraiya's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when he saw this scene.
"Lying on a chair, with two people on his back, not even lifting his eyes, and he neutralized Minato's attack with just one finger?"
Hiruzen was utterly incredulous.
He had heard of Minato's strength before.
Even he himself didn't dare claim he could defeat Minato.
"As expected…A legend is still a legend. It won't change because of any factors."
Orochimaru was shaken to the core, but quickly calmed himself.
"Kushina, did you feel it?"
Tsunade, standing on Garp's back, stared directly at Kushina.
"I didn't feel you move at all."
Kushina nodded with a face full of shock.
Just moments ago, she had been wondering whether she should gather chakra under her feet, in case Garp made a big movement and she and Tsunade couldn't stand steadily, falling off would really hurt his dignity.
But until Minato and the Flying Thunder God kunai were both sent flying, they hadn't felt the slightest shake beneath their feet.
No, there hadn't even been the faintest vibration.
That feeling of standing on solid ground… if she hadn't seen Minato and the kunai being blown away with her own eyes, she would have suspected that Garp hadn't even made a move at all.
...
"This level of control…"
After listening, Tsunade didn't speak, but her heart was already in turmoil.
In such an unfavorable position, facing speed of this caliber, his movements should have been large in that split second.
Yet Garp's actions were not only minimal, but steady, almost as if they had been precisely calculated.
His control over force and over his own body was simply inconceivable.
Even though chakra-trained shinobi were already beings that defied common sense, Garp was clearly going a step further on top of that.
He was outright ignoring common sense.
"Yellow Flash? Can you go even faster?
Don't worry, I may be getting on in years, but my reactions are the opposite of my age.
You might not know this, but back in the Warring States period, I was already used to competing with Hashirama in strength, and with Tobirama in speed.
So there's no need to hold back.
You can treat this speed battle as a life and death fight… treat me as your enemy, fight with the resolve to kill me, and go all out."
As Garp slowly withdrew the finger he had just flicked, he spoke leisurely to Minato, who had been blasted away.
