Chapter 114 - Chapter 114: Hopeless Courage

"Another finger!

Damn it! Why is that old monster so strong?

Is he really just some frail old man on his last legs?"

A stared at the finger that had effortlessly neutralized two of his taijutsu techniques, bloodshot veins crawling across his widened eyes.

"I have always wanted to get serious, brat. But you're just not interesting enough to make me try."

Garp looked at A indifferently, his tone flat.

"Bastard!"

Like a cornered beast, A let out a furious roar and blinked behind Garp, slamming his elbow toward Garp's spine with all his might.

What left A stunned, then wildly ecstatic, to the point it felt unreal, was that this time, Garp's finger didn't appear.

Instead, A's all-out strike landed solidly on Garp's spine.

"Did I… hit him?"

A stared at his elbow pressed against Garp's back, feeling as though he were dreaming.

Snore… snore…

Suddenly, the sound of snoring reached his ears.

A looked up in disbelief. The unreal feeling vanished, but so did the last remnants of fighting spirit in his heart.

"He… fell asleep?"

A struggled to open his mouth. His body staggered backward several steps, and if B hadn't caught him in time, he would've collapsed to the ground.

"This is our chance, brother. While Garp is asleep, let's escape!"

Supporting A, Killer B whispered urgently.

Even with Garp snoring right in front of them, he didn't dare attack, he only wanted to flee.

"C… was my father like this back then too?"

A ignored Killer B and instead stared intently at C.

"..."

C said nothing, only nodded heavily.

Seeing this, A's body shook violently, as though he had just suffered an unprecedented blow.

"Brother, stop thinking about it.

If even the Raikage lost to a man like this, it's not shameful. Choosing to run from a man like this isn't shameful either!"

Killer B tried to console him in a low voice.

He didn't have A's towering pride, nor was he as stubborn.

After witnessing Garp shatter a Tailed Beast Bomb with a single punch, once the initial shock passed, he calmly accepted the cruel truth that defeating Garp was utterly impossible.

"You go..."

A looked at Garp, who was sleeping soundly with a bubble forming at his lips. Several times, the urge to throw a punch rose within him, only to be abandoned in despair.

He then tried to flee, only to discover in horror that he couldn't.

It wasn't that he couldn't lower his head.

He simply no longer had the courage to run.

"Brother!"

Killer B stared at A in disbelief.

C looked at A slumped on the ground and gave a bitter smile.

Lost even the courage to escape?

What a coincidence… so have I….

Perhaps Killer B's voice had risen just a little too much in his agitation, popping the bubble at Garp's lips.

"Huh… why did I fall asleep again?"

Garp yawned, turned his head, glanced around, and then fixed his gaze on the three of them.

"You're still here? I thought you'd already left."

He yawned again, looking thoroughly unawake.

"Go, B!"

Seeing Garp wake up, A gathered his last bit of strength and pushed Killer B, only to find that Killer B was faster and more decisive.

Before A's hand could even reach him, B had already hauled him up and flung him backward.

Then, drawing seven ninja blades, he charged straight at Garp with a resolute expression.

Facing a blade technique so fast that even a Sharingan couldn't fully track it, Garp's body drifted like a leaf in the wind, slipping through the gaps between the seven blades.

He closed in effortlessly, one finger stopping right against B's forehead as B's pupils shrank.

"You're already dead."

As Garp spoke, Killer B's hands loosened, the ninja blades clattering to the ground as his body knelt weakly before Garp.

"I was the one who fired the Tailed Beast Bomb. Do whatever you want to me, just spare my brother."

Killer B looked up at Garp, facing that finger.

What answered him was Garp's fingers, shooting forward like bullets and plunging violently into his abdomen.

"You…."

B's eyes bulged so wide that even his sunglasses fell to the ground.

"Who do you think you are?

Trying to assassinate me, swinging your blade at me, and then negotiating terms at the same time?

Even when the First Raikage spoke to me like that, he could only do so on his knees, let alone you, a mere Jinchuriki brat!"

Garp looked down coldly at B's face. Then his fingers, buried in Killer B's abdomen, yanked backward.

Along with five glaring streaks of blood, five streams of crimson chakra were torn out of B's body.

Watching the red chakra pour endlessly from his abdomen, Killer B's body twitched faintly on the ground. His mouth opened as if to speak, but not a single sound came out.

"No one is allowed to break their word in front of me.

Since the Third Raikage couldn't discipline you lot, then I will discipline you in his place."

Garp glanced once at Killer B, then turned his gaze toward the Eight-Tails Gyuki, formed from an immense gathering of Tailed Beast chakra.

"I'm sorry… I was wrong!"

With just that single glance, the Eight-Tails, ranked second among the nine Tailed Beasts in both strength and chakra, began trembling uncontrollably.

With his Jinchuriki dead before his eyes, he had only one reaction.

Not rage. Not retaliation. Not even leaving behind an octopus tentacle within Killer B's body.

But instead…

Lowering his head, trembling, and apologizing.

Though it wasn't his doing but B's, that didn't stop him from choosing to apologize.
