Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Aftermath

Raiden, Noelle, and the other kids of the Ashina Academy and the event remained outside as the building caught ablaze.

"W-Where's Aladdin??"

"Aladdin?..You mean that guy you train with?..He was here?" Gharma scratched his head as a fire truck slid around the corner, firefighters got out helping any injured civilians, which weren't many. The civilians themselves didn't sustain anything major. Perhaps that was a calculated move by the beings who caused the terrorist attack.

Raiden ran towards the building disregarding his own safety-

Noelle had grabbed ahold of her nephew, showing the strength of her emotions that was hidden by her face cover.

"No! You aren't going anywhere Raiden! Your father will handle this!"

"Hey wait..Cynil isn't here! She's the only one missing! The other school is safe!"

Raiden looked around, hearing Cynil was missing. He was thrown back by Noelle suddenly towards Gharma.

Noelle had veins coursing down her face that could be seen, she looked towards the building and tried sensing for Cynil. She had never seen something like this happen even with her spoiled daughters.

"Where are they?!"

"This ain't good." Gharma held up one of the emblems before showing it to Noelle, he had received it prior to her disappearance amidst the chaos.

"I don't know what this is. Looks like some group..they're not playing around with us it seems."

Joseph fixed his clothes and started his way towards the building. "You think she's in there still?" He stopped a bit away from it, looking at the chaos wrought from the strange interference during the game.

Noelle looked over at the Emblem and stared at it, ingraining the image into her mind. "Me and your father have to meet, an emergency council will be set up. Everyone else needs to make sure we have a good headcount. If anyone else is missing SPEAK UP NOW!"

Gharma looked toward Joseph. "I doubt it..she isn't the type to just sit around."

"I hope so, your injuries still doing alright?" Despite all the commotion and such, Joseph's shadows had held on every person he'd helped out, still covering cuts and wounds with their faux bandaging.

Raiden slowly rose from the ground and watched the building. Despite the call that they were safe, and the blood feud they had indoors, he worried for the opposing team members as well as they were simply competition to his school.

"Eh. Trying my best to get through it. Thanks for looking out man, the favor won't go unnoticed."He held his hands out. He was unsure about Joseph's ability but he knew he was someone he could trust at the bare minimum. He looked toward Raiden. "See the opposite school anywhere?"

Joseph gave him a quick inspection, nodding lightly, the shadows had also sealed any cuts but not directly healed them, just making it easier for it to naturally fix. "Good, everything looks in order with you." He sighed, slipping his beanie back on. "This is great, didn't expect my first day here to be so eventful."

Raiden peered around the field trying to find Tengoku, the one that had met his match. "I can't see them. Do you think they got out?"

Hearing the explosion made one of the students who was clearly skipping summer classes jump awake. "What the…" He trailed off, his eyes squinted as they were trying to adjust too the mid day sun. Quickly, he jumped too his feet and quickly climbed down from the roof, once his foot touched the pavement he would quickly try to blend into the small crowd of students. "Don't notice…don't notice." He muttered to himself as he moved past a few people, trying to get further away from anyone that didn't look like a student.

"Where do you think you're going?" Mamba was a few bodies away from Aiden, the crowd ended up masking the two perfectly. However, it felt as if it were a normal conversation. As if nobody was there. As if the two were in some kind of room alone. Mamba had known Aiden as they attended the same school, maybe even shared a few classes together in the past. "Fancy seeing you here. I didn't see your face at the game, what gives? Not in the school spirit?"

Raiden continued walking the crowd looking for the Opposing team members to confirm that they were okay. He wanted his words with the team members to congratulate them but it might have been too late. Tengoku stood a few feet away down from the main group, He looked on at Raiden. Despite the chaos in the moment he held a straight face. "Ah..glad to see you safe. Any idea what that was?" Tengoku was skeptical considering the attack happened within the school that Raiden attended, as well as Raiden's school, but he didn't jump to any conclusions. Right now keeping his team safe was the most important thing to him.

"Oh, well you know. I'm not feeling the best so figured I go hop on home." Aiden shrugged and took a few back steps. "But you man." He pointed at Mamba. "You are looking great, full of school spirit for the both of us. You keep that up." He clicked his tongue at Mamba and fully turned around. "Motherfucker.." He muttered again as he continued to make his way through the crowd.

"Woah Woah Woah." She moved through the crowd stopping him again. "Do you happen to know anything about this? This is a bit insane. I'm going to have to investigate." Mamba was her normal strict self, upholding the student council to a high level of pride. Therefore, she tended to keep everything as neat as possible in her appearance. Even keeping her looks as clean as ever despite getting hit with part of the attack. "Just going to slide on out of here? Isn't that just a bit suspicious?"

"Well, when you put it like that." Aiden shrugged slightly, looking back at her. "When was the last time I caused an explosion?" He joked before remembering exactly what powers he had. "Don't answer that, either way. I'm not going to attack people. I'm better than that. If you want my side, I'm innocent. My studies interrupted when the explosion went off in the other building." He lied through his teeth, hoping that she would get off his back; he knew it wasn't him but he was covering himself for skipping class.

Mamba laughed at his sarcasm. Deep down she knew what he was doing was suspicious. She shrugged back at him smiling. "Yeah let's ignore the fact that your ability would be the perfect catalyst for this. I understand, you're not the type of guy to do something like that..but…"

Her playful demeanor soon went serious. Like a switch she could flick at will.

"I better see you in class tomorrow, no exceptions. There's going to be a serious problem if you're not there. If you don't graduate this year do you know what that will look like? You know, to the average school student you may just be jaded, or maybe it's just not that serious. And hey. Maybe it's not. But it is that serious to me. Show up, or don't. I will find you and we're going to have a talk. You can go."

"Yeah, whatever you say." He waved her off, not worried about her words in the slightest; more just annoyed at her attempt at threatening him. "Thank for your permission to leave." He bowed back to Mamba, probably with a large hint of sarcasm and with an added scoff before fully leaving the area.
