The rational voice in my head kept repeating the same advice I'd learned from spending months around Alana's calculated approach to conflict resolution. Walk away. Focus on your own problems. Don't make impulsive decisions that will complicate everything further.
I stared down at the photograph clutched between my fingers, and every logical thought evaporated.
To hell with rationality.
My head snapped up toward Cathrine, who stood waiting for my response with barely contained curiosity. "Pack light. We're flying to Spain within the hour."
Her mouth fell open slightly. "I'm sorry, what did you just say?"
I was already moving toward the door, my phone emerging from my jacket pocket as I started scrolling through contacts. "You heard me correctly."
