Isobel clearly hadn't anticipated that kind of response from me. She let out a bitter laugh, obviously convinced I was just putting on some righteous act. The look of cold satisfaction on her face made it clear she was waiting for me to fail.
Night fell like a dark curtain over the city.

I watched Isobel's eyes dart toward the entrance repeatedly while she kept talking.
Pretending not to notice, I cut straight to the point. "Ms. Hogan, you dragged me here and gave me all this information. What do you really want?"
