Morris's POV
I picked up Floryn's husband, and we headed back to the hospital room together.
Ana glanced my way, but the second our eyes locked, she turned away fast.
Her attitude had shifted, gotten softer somehow, but I completely missed it. All I could think was that she was still pissed at me—so mad she couldn't even stand looking at me.
My chest felt tight, like something was squeezing it from the inside.
'Did I come on too strong?' The thought hit me hard. 'Did I push Ana—sweet, gentle Ana—until she finally snapped?'
But damn it, I couldn't stand watching her buried in that kitchen all the time anymore.
She looked miserable living like that.
Whatever was running through my head made my expression even darker.
Floryn watched us—two people acting like strangers—and just shook her head.
"Ana, your grandmaster's here now. You two should get going. I want to catch up with him," she said gently.
