Chapter 170 - Odin's Disappearance

"Speak, what happened in Asgard?"

Aaron held the drink prepared by Felicia, who had rushed over to serve him, and drank it leisurely.

Thor, who had been eager to speak, was about to open his mouth, but Loki, without looking sideways, spoke first, "Uncle, actually, this time it's not us who wanted to find you, but mother who entrusted us to wait for you."

"Mother should have already learned of your return, and she will be down soon."

Thor quickly added, "That's right, father is missing. Asgard might face a huge threat."

"He's not missing."

Loki interrupted Thor and continued, "Father seems to be doing something dangerous, preparing to solve all of Asgard's troubles once and for all, but he seems to have encountered some problems."

"However, I think Thor is being overly alarmist. How could Asgard possibly be threatened?"

Loki unconsciously stroked the hilt of his Dragonfang. "The ancestors of Asgard protect this land, and now with you, uncle, Asgard is impregnable."

"Of course, if necessary, I, one of the only two Valkyrie currently in Asgard, can certainly learn from my seniors and slay all evildoers."

Loki provocatively looked at Thor. The Valkyrie were Asgard's most renowned legend. They were the most elite corps of the Nine Realms, and both Thor and Loki grew up hearing their legends.

"Well said. Loki, you've really grown up."

A gentle female voice sounded from outside the door.

Loki and Thor simultaneously rose in surprise.

"Mother!"

It was Frigga, who looked at Loki with pleasant surprise, never expecting her son to have such awareness. This greatly astonished her.

Frigga gestured for them to sit down, then looked at Aaron, who smiled slightly at her. Her originally agitated and flustered heart gradually calmed down.

"Frigga, please sit."

Aaron waved his hand, and a chair appeared out of thin air beside him.

Frigga sat down without ceremony.

Aaron was not surprised by Frigga's arrival.

As early as when the Bifrost Bridge's light descended, he had noticed the faint energy fluctuations. He even knew that Frigga had teleported directly outside the door.

After Frigga sat down, she hesitated for a moment.

Then she asked, "Aaron, do you want a wife?"

Aaron was drinking his beverage when he heard this, and he spat it out.

"What? A wife?"

Aaron was a bit confused.

Didn't Odin just send him wives?

Sif, Savannah, Nina, and even Lorelei counted.

Thor and Loki also looked at Frigga with surprise, never expecting their mother to make such an absurd statement.

Even Frigga felt a little embarrassed.

But when she thought of Odin's instructions before he left, she had to inform him in advance.

"You might not know, but Odin actually has another child."

"What?!"

Thor and Loki were greatly shocked.

How could another competitor emerge?

"She is Hela, Odin's first child, and she's a girl."

Frigga slowly recounted Hela's story.

Aaron remained very calm throughout.

Thor and Loki, however, felt like the sky was falling.

They actually had an older sister, Hela, the Goddess of Death, who had even helped Odin conquer the Nine Realms.

When they heard that Hela, enraged by power, had fought Odin and was banished, then slaughtered the entire Valkyrie corps, Loki, whose heart was already cold, felt even colder.

On such a hot day, he actually felt a chilling cold to the bone.

"Loki, it's rare for you to have such courage. I hope you can inherit the legacy of the Valkyrie corps and live up to the Valkyrie's prestige." Frigga even praised Loki at this point.

Loki forced a smile.

Can I take back what I just said?

I was just running my mouth, don't take it seriously.

The past Valkyries were female. I'm a male Valkyrie. I really can't inherit their legacy.

Loki wanted to cry but had no tears. Hearing about such a fierce person as Hela, he felt far inferior.

Even Thor probably wouldn't be a match for such a ruthless person.

Loki then weakly said, "Uncle, that... can you restore my Frost..."

"No."

Aaron immediately refused, "Loki, what has been said cannot be unsaid. You were the one who didn't want the complete King of the Frost Giants Physique back then."

Loki was helpless.

If he had the complete Frost Giant Physique, perhaps he could contend with Hela.

But now that the entire Valkyrie corps had been slaughtered, how could he, an impostor, possibly face her?

Thor then chuckled. "Loki, why don't you give me this equipment, and I'll go play with her?"

Thor patted his new axe, which was the later stormbreaker.

Odin had specifically forged this new weapon for him before he left.

How could Loki agree to that?

He could kneel, he could surrender, but he absolutely could not be embarrassed in front of Thor.

"No need, I, Loki, am the Nine Realms' number one sorcerer. A mere Goddess of Death is nothing to worry about."

Loki then pulled out his original two daggers and hid them carefully.

Frigga shook her head at the sight and continued, "Odin wants to reconcile with Hela in his last moments and hopes Hela will become one of your wives, to protect the Nine Realms together."

"However, a day has already passed, and I'm afraid they haven't reached an agreement."

Frigga unconsciously showed a trace of worry.

Hela was very strong. Her prestige once overshadowed Odin, and she was called the most brutal Vice-Monarch of Asgard by people from the other nine kingdoms.

Although Odin was more powerful, he was old. Could he defeat Hela, who was still in her prime?

"Ah? Sister and uncle? This really won't do." Thor looked up in great surprise.

Loki's eyes flickered, and he suddenly realized the trick.

"I think this can work."

Thor turned his head, his face filled with disbelief.

Frigga coughed without explaining, and Aaron said nothing.

He and Hela had no blood relation to begin with, so what was the big deal?

But...

Aaron highly doubted if Odin would survive this winter.

Thinking about Hela's two thousand years of accumulated loneliness and resentment...

Could it be that Odin had given up on Thor?

Aaron easily guessed Odin's thoughts.

If Hela married him and could bear a son or daughter, then Asgard would be extremely stable.

It's a pity that Odin's plan was destined to fail.

If Aaron wanted to, he could hit the mark every time. But if he didn't want to, the probability would be zero.

Aaron would not refuse Odin's goodwill.

Since Odin was pushing his own daughter onto him, even actively sending her to his bed, how could he refuse?
