Chapter 72 - Absolute Zero

While Aaron was thinking, Odin extended his hand toward Loki again.

Loki was confused.

"Take everything out."

"What things?"

"Loki."

"Okay, I remember now."

Loki got out of Destroyer and returned Gungnir. Then, he took out the Frost Giant's sacred object from his personal storage—the Casket of Ancient Winters.

He also pulled out an enormous gauntlet. Six gems were embedded on it.

Aaron: ???

I can understand the Casket of Ancient Winters, but why are you holding a gauntlet that is purely decorative?

What are you going to do with it? Carry it around to smash people?

Aaron could sense that this thing was forged from Uru.

Strictly speaking, this thing is genuine. Thanos's gauntlet was made using this one as a mold. It's just that all the gems on it are purely ornamental.

Aaron guessed that Odin might have once had the idea of collecting the Infinity Stones, but perhaps due to unique stones like the Soul Stone, he chose to place the gauntlet in his vault and intentionally "leave" all the Infinity Stones outside.

Odin glanced at the gauntlet and gave Loki a strange look. He coughed and calmly hid the gauntlet away.

"This thing is just an ornament. Aside from giants, no one in Asgard can use it." He explained casually.

Aaron looked at Destroyer, which had returned to its original state after Loki left and was visibly at least two and a half meters tall.

Can you claim that this thing looks usable by a normal person based on its appearance?

Odin immediately picked up Gungnir and silently muttered, and Destroyer retreated as if it possessed intelligence.

"Do you like this thing too?"

Sensing Aaron's gaze, Odin immediately changed the subject, "If you like it, I can let you study it for a while. Actually, it's nothing important."

Loki, Thor: !!!

Wait, we are your biological (or adopted) sons, and we never saw you being this generous.

Thor only has mjolnir, which was taken out of the vault.

Loki... has nothing.

The main reason is that nothing really suits him.

The Casket of Ancient Winters is quite suitable, but Odin wouldn't dare.

Hearing this, Aaron didn't stand on ceremony. "I'll take a look when I have time."

Odin nodded, holding the Casket of Ancient Winters, and sighed with emotion. "This thing is Jotunheim's greatest treasure. When the Frost Giants invaded Earth, I defeated them in what is now Norway. I painstakingly took this object from Laufey, and maintained peace for a thousand years."

"It contains extremely powerful energy. If released, it is enough to instantly turn an entire kingdom into an ice kingdom."

Saying this, Odin handed the Casket of Ancient Winters to Aaron. "Want to see it?"

Aaron took the object, still feeling confused.

On one hand, he said the item was dangerous, yet on the other, he handed it over without any precaution for him to look at.

He increasingly suspected that this old man was up to some trickery or scheme.

First of all, he had no relation to Asgard. But even if he were truly Odin's half-brother, he couldn't possibly receive this kind of treatment.

Just look at Thor and Loki, and you'll know.

Oh, and there's Hela, who has been imprisoned for two or three thousand years.

They have the most right to speak about what kind of person Odin is in their eyes.

A loving father? Well, only slightly better than a ruthless person.

Suddenly, Aaron connected the preceding and following Karma and gradually guessed Odin's intention.

Thinking of this, he immediately started playing with the Casket of Ancient Winters without reservation.

Odin, this old fellow—who dares call him foolish?

Loki? He is probably the one who was calculated against the entire time.

Thor and Loki were gnashing their teeth with envy. This is treatment even the biological sons don't get.

Who can they complain to?

Odin continued, "Sif, this is Aaron's first time in Asgard, and he is probably unfamiliar with the place. Take him around for a tour first."

Loki subconsciously raised his hand. "Father, I guarantee that I am familiar with and clearly remember every blade of grass and tree in Asgard. I can take this... uncle to tour the beautiful Asgard, the best home he should have originally stayed in."

Odin glared at him with his remaining eye and said, "Enough, stop rambling nonsense, and come with me immediately."

Then he looked at the gloating Thor. "And you, come along too."

Odin nodded to Aaron, then left, taking Thor and Loki with him.

Sif shrugged. "Well, you know, the mistake Loki made this time isn't small. Of course, Thor's wasn't much better."

"Until they realize their mistakes, they might not be able to attend your celebratory banquet."

Aaron took a deep look at Odin's retreating figure, then gave Sif a strange look, sensing that things weren't that simple but he didn't care. As long as the benefits materialized, that was all that mattered.

Aaron flipped his right hand, and the Casket of Ancient Winters instantly vanished.

Sif was surprised. "You can also use spatial storage magic?"

Aaron nonchalantly said, "It's quite simple, isn't it?"

Simple? Are you sure?

Sif rolled her eyes.

She had tried to learn magic, but that stuff wasn't easy.

Even as a Vanir, she eventually chose the path of a warrior.

However, remembering the royal bloodline flowing in Aaron's body, she didn't find it strange anymore.

After all, that was the most precious bloodline in the Nine Realms.

[Ice Control: Similar ability detected. Fusion complete. You now possess a more powerful ice ability. Once fully unleashed, it is enough to freeze a star.]

[Ice Elementalization: You possess the ability to turn into ice. In this state, you are immune to telepathy and immune to ice abilities.]

[Absolute Zero: You can unleash the power to freeze "space-time" within a certain range, but this will consume a large amount of energy. Please use with caution.]

Aaron nodded in satisfaction.

Not bad.

Mind immunity is a minor matter. Although he hadn't tested it, he seriously doubted he would be affected by mental abilities even if he hadn't acquired any similar powers.

After all, the Primordial Furnace is him. Who can control the Primordial Furnace?

If such a character truly exists, then say no more. Hurry up and go outside the fourth wall to wreak havoc. Conceptual deities and narrative layers wouldn't even dare to breathe heavily in front of you.

What Aaron valued more was Absolute Zero. It's somewhat similar to Esdeath's "Mahapadma" from Akame ga Kill.

But Esdeath can only use it once a day, while theoretically, he can use it as many times as he wants as long as he has enough energy.

Perhaps this is the Origin power of the energy inside the Casket of Ancient Winters.

How could a Divine Artifact on the same level as Gungnir be weak?

Even if it only freezes a small area of space-time, it is enough to accomplish many things.

Next, Aaron followed Sif and visited many places.

Originally, after Sif learned that Aaron was Odin's "biological brother," she acted quite reserved. But after discovering that Aaron still talked to her very casually, Sif lost that sense of awe and nervousness and only curiosity remained.

Curious about Aaron's strength and curious about his experiences.

When she asked how Aaron had spent his previous twenty-two years in solitude, Aaron simply sighed and rubbed his forehead.

Sif immediately became nervous. "Alright, I won't ask. Perhaps that period wasn't pleasant."

"Besides studying, what else is there worth mentioning?" Aaron shook his head, speechless.

Not pleasant? If he really had to say so, it wasn't wrong.

Nine years of compulsory education, plus high school and university.

Twenty-two years spent studying.

Then, while walking around, he was transported into the Marvel Universe.

Compared to his life here, those twenty-two years truly couldn't be called pleasant?

Shaking his head, Aaron looked toward the magnificent buildings floating in the distance. Both the design and the style were incredibly grand and spectacular.
