Chapter 2 - Chapter Two: The Destruction of the Village

The Void Dragon's eyes darkened as he stared at the soldiers surrounding him.

(You humans… I came here not to fight, but to explore — to understand you all. But it seems you want battle instead. Very well then… I'll fight. But don't blame me for what happens next.)

He slowly raised his hand toward the shimmering barrier around him, his eyes glowing a deep purple.

Void Dragon: "Hmm… impressive. Even though you're only around levels five to ten, your barrier is quite strong. But…" his voice turned cold as ice, "you'll never be able to stop me with something like this."

Void Dragon: "Unique Skill — Mirror."

The moment those words left his mouth, the air fell silent. The soldiers took several steps back, trembling in fear. Then — everything stopped.

The barrier shattered instantly.

And then —

BOOOOOOM!

The entire village erupted in destruction. Houses were torn apart, sliced into countless fragments. Blood splattered from every corner of the streets.

The Void Dragon's Unique Skill — Mirror — had been unleashed. A terrifying power, invisible and impossible to sense, capable of both offense and defense. In mere seconds, countless invisible blades of mirror energy had sliced through everything in the village. Not a single living thing remained — not even a fly. Everything had been cut into thousands of pieces.

(This Unique Skill, Mirror… it's far too powerful. I need to be careful when using it.) he thought. The skill could cut through anything, bypass barriers and energy shields, and since it couldn't be seen or sensed, surviving its attack was nearly impossible.

Void Dragon: "I came here to explore… to understand what I didn't know. But these humans chose this path — and I simply gave them what they wanted," he said, watching as the ruined houses burned. Flames danced wildly, and soon, rain began to fall.

He lifted his gaze toward the dark sky, staring silently for several minutes.

Void Dragon: "Am I really that bad… to be called a monster? I mean, I am a monster in some way — but to call me one so easily is insulting. I am the natural incarnation of nothingness and emptiness. I only wanted to understand… to feel something. And yet, this is what happens."

His voice was emotionless, his blue eyes now cold as ice.

He bent his knees and leapt once again, the ground shattering beneath him. As he soared into the sky, breaking through the dark clouds, he took a deep breath and calmed himself.

He knew what he had done — he had killed countless innocents. But he also knew that if he hadn't, they would have killed him instead. He did only what was necessary to survive.

From that day on, the Void Dragon began exploring the world. He visited many nations. In some, the same tragedy repeated — fear, betrayal, and destruction. In others, people didn't fear him at first… but in the end, they too betrayed him for his power. And so, he killed them as well.

(It's been nearly fifty years since I left the forest. I've traveled through countless nations and met many people. Some were kind to me… but eventually, they all revealed their true colors and betrayed me. After all this time, I've learned one thing — this world is full of humans and high humans, and though they belong to the same world, they treat each other like demons.)

He floated high above the clouds, watching the endless wars below — humans and high humans fighting one another.

(These humans will destroy themselves if they continue fighting like this… but who cares? Still, I'm disappointed in this world. There are only a few races — humans, high humans, those bloodthirsty vampires, and demons.)

A faint shiver ran down his spine — not from fear, but from memory. Once, long ago, he had saved a vampire girl from human hunters. Her name… was Luminous Valentine.

(Man, I still regret saving her. She followed me everywhere afterward…) he thought, sighing lightly.

Now, he had left the western lands behind and entered the eastern part of the world. The world itself was divided into four regions — the western lands ruled by humans and vampires, and the eastern by high humans and the low-level demons they summoned to fight against humans.

(They fear the vampires, so they prepare for them as well — in case the vampires ever interfere in their wars.)

He hovered above the battlefield, watching humans and high humans clash below, casually eating popcorn as explosions and chaos echoed beneath him.

(Well… at least it's entertaining.)
