"Baby, you're finally here," he said, his voice low and warm, echoing slightly in the silent room. "What took you so long? I was starting to think you'd fallen asleep."
I walked over, my heart giving a small, nervous flutter as I took the seat beside him. I offered him a small, weary smile. "I was just taking my time, babe. I needed to think."
His brows knit together, a flicker of concern crossing his sharp features. "You needed to think about what?"
I reached out, squeezing his hand to reassure him. "Let's eat first. When we get upstairs, we'll talk about everything."
Leon didn't press further, though I felt his gaze rest on me for a long, searching moment. "Alright, babe," he said quietly, finally motioning for the maid to serve us.
