~Becklan's POV~
I stepped into the sunlit office. Leon sat at his desk, sleeves rolled up, typing. Sensing someone's presence, he raised his head, his sharp gaze softening instantly when it landed on me.
He sprang to his feet, his chair nearly tipping back. "Babe?" he said, a mix of shock and delight in his voice. "Why didn't you call me to pick you up?"
I walked further into the room, smiling as I put the bags of food on his sleek conference table. "I wanted to surprise you," I said, watching him walk toward me with his usual long, confident stride. "I figured you'd be so busy working that you probably forgot to eat… again."
Leon reached me in seconds, his hands settling on my waist and pulling me close. He smelled of expensive cologne with a hint of the office, but his touch was warm. "You were right," he murmured, leaning down to press a soft, lingering kiss to my forehead. "But you shouldn't have had to come all this way. I told you I'd come for you."
