Capone Bege led the way, Koby close behind, both moving with urgent strides.
At this moment, the young major of the Sabaody Archipelago was anxious—nervous to the point of near panic.
When Vice Admiral Garp had heard about Kyle's situation, he hadn't lost his temper immediately. Instead, his smile vanished, replaced by a grave expression, and he simply told Kyle to lead the way.
Kyle's story—escaping after killing the nobles who had enslaved and tormented him—somehow resonated with Garp. His personality was the complete opposite, yet he admired it.
Thinking carefully, Garp realized his own crew shared this same reckless, fearless spirit. The downside? High casualties, of course—after all, they were fighting ruthless pirates day in and day out.
As the two approached the training ground, their steps suddenly froze. Koby looked up in stunned silence, his face twisting in horror right before Capone's eyes.
A deep, oppressive aura rolled over the space ahead. The air seemed to warp and twist.
"Conqueror's Haki?" Koby muttered, eyes wide.
He stared at the source in disbelief, unable to fathom that this power was emanating from the black-haired boy in front of him.
Inside the training arena, Kyle lifted his head from the iron basin filled with seawater.
Gunshots, strangulation, hanging, decapitation, burning, cannon fire, poison… every lethal method imaginable had been inflicted upon him.
Each death had sent his system panel soaring, his points instantly reaching sixty.
That meant in the short time since arriving in this world, he had died sixty times.
All those deaths, that constant agony, had ignited a burning rage deep within him—a fury that now exploded outward in this world.
"Why?" he screamed inside.
"Why do I have to suffer such injustice? Why does death greet me the moment I arrive?"
"Why, after all these deaths, can't anyone actually kill me?"
"Why do I have to feel this pain?"
Madness took hold.
No method could kill him, yet the suffocating, agonizing sensation of death was unmistakable every single time.
In other words, he had truly died countless times, only to be reborn again—creating the illusion of being unkillable.
All that pain, resentment, rage, and madness converged, bursting from him like a dam breaking.
The air trembled, twisted, and a terrifying aura surged outward, immediately crashing down on the Navy who had been racking their brains trying to kill him.
Four men collapsed instantly, eyes rolling back, weapons clattering to the ground, unconscious.
The aura spread even faster, leaving every living thing nearby dazed, even plants bending and bowing as if in submission.
When the wave of energy finally subsided, Kyle lifted his head, body trembling.
On his system panel, a single line appeared:
"Conqueror's Haki LV0+"
A realization dawned on him.
In his blind fury, he had unknowingly awakened Conqueror's Haki. He also noticed the sixty points on his panel.
At that moment, a deep, furious voice boomed from behind.
"Koby, you dare execute such a remarkable youth? The one who deserves to die is you!"
Kyle lifted his head to see two figures approaching.
At the front strode a towering man with a square jaw and a close-cropped black haircut, exuding raw power. He repeatedly punched Koby in the head, who screamed in pain before collapsing unconscious with a thud.
"Damn Koby… you really have become a Celestial Dragon's lapdog!"
Garp strode forward, scowling at Kyle.
The air still trembled with the presence of Conqueror's Haki, rippling visibly across the void around them.
"Boy, what's your name?" Garp demanded.
Kyle moved his lips, recalling memories from his previous life to answer: "Kyle."
"Good. From today on, you'll stay by my side."
Nearby, Koby stirred, panicked: "You can't, Vice Admiral Garp! That would offend the Celestial Dragons!"
"Shut your mouth!" Garp barked.
Kyle didn't respond. Instead, he silently tapped the "+" next to his Conqueror's Haki on the panel.
In an instant, an even more powerful aura erupted, crashing into Koby and leaving him completely unconscious.
"Well, well! Just awakened, and already mastering Conqueror's Haki!" Garp exclaimed in surprise.
He then helped Kyle to his feet.
"I hear you can't die?" he asked.
Kyle pursed his lips: "Seems that way, for now."
"Though I suppose there could be some special method that might succeed."
Not only did death fail to stop him, but each death also increased his points, enhancing his abilities. Killing him would only make him stronger.
It seemed Kyle had stumbled upon a strange, powerful cheat in this world.
"Is it a Devil Fruit power?" Garp asked.
Kyle shook his head.
Despite having some sense of people's personalities from the anime of his previous life, this world was more real. He wasn't willing to chat unnecessarily.
Garp, however, was delighted. Meeting a boy with unique abilities, especially one who had awakened Conqueror's Haki, sparked his interest. He peppered Kyle with questions, only to receive nods or shakes of the head in reply. Clearly, the boy wasn't eager to converse.
"From today, you're coming with me. I'll see you into the Navy," Garp said with a smile.
"I might cause you trouble with the Celestial Dragons," Kyle hesitated.
"You don't need to worry about those scumbags," Garp replied dismissively.
From their brief exchange, Kyle judged that this Navy hero was at the peak of his youth—strong, reckless, and a little careless.
Ignoring the unconscious Koby, Garp removed his shackles and led Kyle toward the port and the dog-head warship.
"Hahaha! If Sengoku knew I'd taken in a talent like you, he'd be thrilled!" Garp laughed aboard the ship.
In Garp's eyes, a boy who had awakened Conqueror's Haki was already incredibly gifted. Other weaknesses barely registered in his mind.
Kyle stayed silent, tapping the "+" nine more times on his Conqueror's Haki, raising it to level 10.
A strange, overwhelming sensation washed over him.
He realized his mental strength had grown, the radius of his influence expanded, and his control had sharpened.
