Chapter 38 - 38. Surprise Visit

I sank deeper into the couch cushions, letting the TV drone in the background. The house was empty except for me, and for once, the silence felt like a break. At least for a few hours.

I got bored just flipping through channels mindlessly, the TV droning on with nothing worth watching. I tossed the remote onto the cushion beside me and picked up my phone instead.

I had texted Shawn earlier to meet up, it had been a while since we really hung out. Come to think of it, I hadn't talked to him properly since that day he went off with Yumi. We'd crossed paths at school a few times after that, but it was always quick nods or awkward hellos in the hallway. He seemed different somehow, quieter, maybe a little distant.

But this was Shawn. He was probably just busy meeting Yumi. She was his crush, after all, and from what I'd seen in the alley that day, things had definitely moved forward between them.

I checked the time. Plenty of room in the day. Meanwhile, I started thinking about Rose. She'd been on my mind nonstop since yesterday. The way her voice sounded a little off on the phone. I wanted to see her, make sure she was really okay. A surprise visit felt right. I could swing by her place, bring some snacks or just say I was in the neighborhood.

The thought of seeing her face, hearing her laugh, maybe getting one of those warm hugs... it eased some of the tightness in my chest. I smiled a little to myself, imagining her opening the door, surprised but happy.

I stood up from the couch, stretched my arms over my head. The house was still empty with Mom at the fitness club, Lily with her friends, Lisa... wherever she went. For once, the silence felt peaceful instead of heavy.

I locked the door behind me and headed out, the cool afternoon air hitting my face as I stepped onto the sidewalk. Rose's house was just the next block over, so it didn't take long to get there. The walk was quiet, the streets were mostly empty. My mind raced the whole way, imagining how she'd react.

'I wonder how she'll look when she sees me.' The thought kept repeating. She'd be surprised for sure. She will happy surprised, I hoped. I pictured her face lighting up, eyes wide, maybe letting out a little gasp before throwing her arms around me in one of those tight hugs she always gave. The way her body would press against mine, warm and soft. It made my chest feel lighter just thinking about it.

I stopped at the small convenience store on the corner and grabbed a box of her favorite chocolates—those dark ones with the caramel center she always moaned about when she ate them. The cashier gave me a quick smile as I paid, and I tucked the box under my arm, already smiling to myself.

When I reached her house, I took a deep breath and pressed the doorbell. I stood there waiting, shifting my weight from one foot to the other, the box held out in front of me like a little offering.

A minute passed. No answer.

My patience started to thin. I was about to press the button again when the door finally opened with a slow creak.

The person standing there made my stomach drop.

Mike.

He leaned against the doorframe, that usual cocky grin spreading across his face, teeth flashing white against his tanned skin. His blonde hair was messy like he'd just run his hand through it, and

He wore a tight black t-shirt that clung to his toned chest and arms—muscles built from years of baseball practice. He wasn't much taller than me, but the way he carried himself always made him seem bigger, more intimidating.

His eyes flicked down to the chocolates in my hand, then back up to my face, the grin widening into something almost mocking.

"Well, well." he said, voice lazy and amused. "Look who showed up."

My heart started racing faster than I could even hear my own heartbeat pounding in my ears. The sight of Mike standing there in Rose's doorway hit me like a punch to the gut.

My mind flashed back instantly to that awful day—the memory of Aunt Marie straddling him, her hips rolling, her moans echoing through the room like they were burned into my skull. The way her body moved, the way she'd cried out for him... it all rushed back in vivid detail, making my stomach twist with rage and something darker I didn't want to name.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I snapped, my voice coming out sharper than I intended, face burning with anger as I gripped the box of chocolates tighter in my hand.

Mike's grin widened, lazy and cruel, like he'd been waiting for this exact moment. He leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest, the tight t-shirt pulling against his muscles.

"Me? What do you mean? It's my girlfriend's house." He paused, letting the words hang in the air, then added with mock surprise.

"Oh wait... I forgot. It's your girlfriend's house too." The words hit me like cold water. I blinked, confusion crashing over the anger.

"What the fuck are you talking about?"

But before I could even process it, Aunt Marie stepped out from behind him. The sight of her stunned me even more than Mike's words.

She wore black mini shorts that were way too short for her, tight, riding high on her thick thighs, the fabric stretched so thin it clung to every curve. Her squishy and milky thighs wiggled with her steps.

I recognized them instantly. They were Rose's. I'd seen Rose wear them before, lounging around the house on lazy days. Seeing them on Aunt Marie now, stretched over her wider hips and fuller ass, made my throat go dry. The hem barely covered the bottom curve of her cheeks, teasing the edge of her skin with every small shift.

I looked up slowly, almost against my will. She had on a black lace bra that hugged her massive breasts tightly, the delicate material pushing them up and together until they looked ready to spill out.

The lace was sheer in places, letting the dark outline of her areolas show through faintly, her nipples stiff and pressing against the fabric like they were begging for attention. Her skin glowed in the broad daylight, soft and flawless, the deep cleavage drawing my eyes despite the rage still burning in my chest.

She stood there next to Mike, one hand resting lightly on his arm, like she belonged right there with him.
