Cai's POV
I'm on my way to the football court to meet Gav to tell him about the location of the project,and have a proper conversation with him for the first time.
I'm kinda nervous because when I found out about us being partners on the list I never physically talked to him,So I'm kinda nervous,I was on my way to meet him when i received a message from my loving sister who I love to annoy.
B:Cai don't be nervous you ain't asking him out,Just go there and ask him we haven't gotten all day,A project on third day of school is already annoying.
"She really knows me well"I muttered under my breath,I met him talking to his friends i think.
"Hi Gav"I said nervously with a smile and he smiled back,Damn if I was gay,I would ask him out on the spot,Was he made in lab or something?.
"Hi Cairo Matter"Gav said with a smile.
"I wanna talk to you"I said looking at my shoes,Like they were new,I'm not a fan of talking to people who I have ignored all my life.
"Excuse me"Gav said excusing himself from his friends i think again because I'm sure what there relationship is,Not like I care or anything.
"I'm sorry you were talking to your friends and I intruded"I said with a puppy face,Being polite,I know B would cuss me out of she was here. I was acting like a cute simp.
On a normal day I'm cute anyway.
"No,They are my frenemies"He answered,I don't even know what that means i have to ask B she's the smartest.
"Hum it's about the project___"i paused to look at him face
"That dumb project,I shouldn't have skipped it In 11th grade now I'm doing it now"He muttered in a very cute way.
Was he always this cute?.
Gosh my heart.
I might need to check my sexuality again.
"I was thinking if you could do it at my house, Because my sister is going to do hers there with our friends"I said as fast as i could,I was really nervous, Nervous would be an understatement.
I can't even maintain eye contact with him.
If I tried I would probably pass out.
"Slow down buddy,Yes,i can do it at your house"He said with a smile,That smile hits me all the time.His smile is a killer,Hot damn.
"How about we meet at parking lot after school"I asked checking my wrist watch,B was waiting for me.
"No problem"He answered with a smile,I almost shrinked.
Just then the bell rang for lunchtime,Hell,B could come here and start screaming like a Maniac she was.
"I have to go before my sister comes here and cusses me"I said,still admiring his beautiful face,As fate would have it,I haven't finished my sentence when B came into the football court,It had being less than 5 minutes.
"Hey dick head,Do you want me to starve to death?,Answer Dumbass"B said angrily as all the football player turn to her
"Jeez,Calm down B,It's been less than 5 minutes,You always wanna stuff food up your face."I said facing her,And telling her in stern tone.
"How can i calm down i didn't have breakfast,And that's because you woke up late"B said in the same tone I used.
"I get it let's go"i replied walking up to her grabbed her wrist about to drag her out of the room.
"Hi,Senior"B greeted with sarcasm,Like pure sacarsm,Like what the hell is wrong with her
After we went to the cafeteria we had our our lunch and we finished our classes too,and we were on our we to the packing lot,B was almost skipping at how happy she was.
"I will never trade food for anything again"B said with a smile, Rubbing her non existent tummy.
"Freeze"i said,Taking out my phone seeing her laugh was once in a while.
"Why?"She asked as she actually freezed.
"I need to take a picture of this legendary moment and use it as profile picture Duh"I replied as i took my phone out and took a picture of her,As we were going to the parking lot we passed through the Boxing club and because her Face lit up,She liked boxing a lot.
"Oh my God i have to try"B said trying to go inside,But i pulled her back using her backpack.
"You aren't part of their club"I said trying to state the obvious and convince her at the same time,Of she would listen.
"Do you think i care?"She replied trying to go in again,Damn it she never listens to me.
"Hey short guy let's have a match"She said and I covered her mouth with my palm, Really She was already causing trouble on her third day of school.Why am I not surprised?
"No problem"He answered,Like seriously,There's no way I would allow them to spar,I pity the little guy.
"No,she's joking"I said dragging her out she bit me on my arm,Like what was she a cockroach.
"No,I'm not"She stating fact,Why does she never listen to me.
"It seems you forgot i don't feel pain"She whispered.
It's a weird medical condition.
I forgot but it was true,But then I remembered it was the same reason dad stopped her from boxing If he didn't she would be in the national team as we speak.
"You are right,But it's the same reason why Dad stopped you from boxing,Now stop being difficult and listen to me"I said almost screaming,But I dare not do that,it would lead a broken bone and possibly ribs,If am not careful, She's really violent.
"I don't have all day,Do you wanna spar or not?"The little guy asked impatiently
"No,Next time"I screamed at the short guy
"B we have a project to do"I whispered,Trying to get this stupid boxing thought of her mind.
"Next time short guy"She said going to parking lot,Clearly annoyed that she didn't crush the little guy.
We have been standing at the parking lot for 10 minutes,But we could neither spot Joy nor Gav,And when we finally spotted Joy and Treasure they arguing about something again.i wonder what it is this time.
"What is it this time?"B asked crossing her arms.
"She says Milan is in Italy and Verano is in Paris,and i argued both are in Paris"Treasure explained glaring at Joy, Bummer neither of them are right.
"You are both wrong Milan and Verano are both in Italy"I told them,And they were surprised,I don't know Why, They opened there mouths and B was getting impatient already.
"How do you know?"Joy questioned
"Well, Because we have lived in Milan,Verano,France, Seoul ,Los Angeles and other cities."B explained checking her watch,It is true we move all the time.
Like all the time.
"Wow,That's a lot of cities"Gav said coming from a distance his beauty still amazes all the time,While B scoffed at him, Because he was late.
"You are late Reel,Do you know how long I've been waiting here?,Why are you always late at everything?"B asked looking at him like she should beat him up.I know they knew each other they were basically best friends,Jade also knew him,But i always avoided him like a plague.
Why?,No obvious reason.
"Excuse me I have to talk to this blabbermouth of a true friend I have?"Gav excused himself by grabbing her by the wrist to a corner where we couldn't hear them.
I looked at Joy and Treasure and i could see confusion on there Faces,I smiled at them at how confused they were.
B's POV
Well,I finally get to talk to my best friend,He could have just told he goes here instead of saying,'who knows you may see me at your school' and he kept me waiting for a long time.
"Well,well isn't it my Heartbeat Blessing"He dramatically said putting his hand on his heart.
"I told you not to call me that__"I growled crossing my hands
"And isn't it my Best friend of 8 years or I don't know years Reel"
"You look a lot beautiful than the last time i saw you"He pouted wanting to touch my face but i slapped his hands before he could reach it.
"That was yesterday,Well.ut was a video call but you still saw my face"I answered stating the obvious,He's such a drama queen.
"I know"He replied still pouting"But yesterday is a long time"
"You look less uglier"I teased.
Wait,did he follow me here too because he can't do without me,It may sound weird,But it's something he can do, He's 17 he lives alone,Well manages his adopted parents business,And choose the school he wants by himself.
Wait, He's 17 years old and not old enough to live alone, Shouldn't he be in a foster home or something.
"I know what you are thinking about but I didn't follow you I stopped following you since last year,I came here because..."He paused contemplating whether he should tell me or not
"It's none of your business"He crossed his arms.
"IDC,Let's go the rest must be waiting for us"I sighed,I didn't feel like doing the project a lot all I just wanted to sleep.
"Come here,i missed you"Reel said hugging me,More like crushing me with his bear hug, He was slightly big than me.
"I hate to admit to missed you too buddy"I said hugging him back but he was still crushing me.
"Lets go someone might see us"I dragged him back to the parking lot.
Why was I concerned someone might see us?
Just then Jade arrived with an expensive car,What the Fuck,I know this was sent by Mom,She's so dramatic.
"The hell Jade what's this?"Cai asked.
"Your mom said since you are bringing friends home for the first time there coming must be in style"Jade explained waving at Reel.
"Like seriously?"i asked as I massaged my temples.
And Jade nodded,As he hugged Reel, Jesus this was freaking me out,A Fucking expensive car.
It wasn't even out yet but mom got it already.
"Wow"Joy and Treasure surprised,Looked at the car and smiled,They didn't look like middle class people,Because all there Clothes even there backpacks,Stationery were designers.
"Any Mom would do something close to this but this is too…."Treasure paused as she laughed"....your mom is a Gen Z i can see it."
"Well there parents are a little extreme"Gav told them with a smile and i shot him a death glare,Cai was basically melting.
I thought he was straight I guess we would have to call a rain check on that.
If it was another person I would snap at them for melting at my best friend.
But it's my brother so we would save the snapping for the future.
"Your mom is waiting at home she made banana bread for everyone"Jade says excitedly opening the door,I literally Jumped,Mom banana bread was the best.
"Guys something don't you think Gav and Joy look alike"Treasure asked staring at the both of them,And was low-key right.
"You both have blonde hair and green eyes"Cai stated as we started at them,Even Jade was looking.
"Well you and B have dark brown hair hair and dark brown eyes and are not even...."Gav was about to say that were not related and kicked him in between his legs,That blabbermouth.
"Sorry"He said crouching in pain,And limping.
I ignored Reel who was almost screaming in sin and entered the car immediately my mom's banana bread is the best.
We arrived at the house 20 minutes later.
"You didn't tell us you lived in a hotel"Treasure asked looking at our house,But not really surprised,She was clearly rich.
"No it not,It's where we live at the top floor"Cai said pulling Treasure's cheek,Damn I would have to like a taste of it.
"I wonder how many people live here and work here"Joy asked looking out the window as the gateman opened the gate.
"Well about 25 people live here including Cai and B's Parents, there are 3 living rooms,3 kitchens,3 Dinings, Anyone working with the Matter family must live with them so there 16 rooms in the house,6 rooms on each floor but but a lot of room on the top floor,2 people in a room,The first floor are for men only, Second for women and third for the matter family,One room for and Mrs Matter,One for Cai and Jade, one for B and most importantly one for Mrs Matter secretary "Jade explained as we took the elevator,To the top floor,Wow,Jade is very specific.
"Wow,That was oddly specific."Joy said but Reel didn't seem surprised because he already knew that ,Be could be here almost all the time, Before he was swamped with work.
When we got to the top floor,I could smell mom's banana bread,Damn,I hurried to the kitchen,i threw my bag on the floor,Which I knew she would call me out for,But I still did it anyway.
"Pick it up young lady"My mom crossed her arms looking at me, Slightly annoyed.
"Can't Cai pick it up for me?"i pouted while asking
"No,he isn't your slave infact nobody is"my mom answered with a smile,And continued cooking.
"Yes,I'm not and I'm older i shouldn't be doing things for you it's the other way round"Cai stating the obvious.
"Shut the fuck up,You are annoying"I replied picking up my backpack.
And mum gave me a 'Stop cussing in my house look'.
"Good afternoon Mrs Matter"Our friends greeted
"Ohh my,Welcome,Come and have a seat,and don't call me Mrs matter,I'm not old yet,Call me Mook"My mom said as she ushered them to the dining table.Then I remembered I was forgetting something,But what was it.
Funny how the brain knows you are forgetting something but doesn't remember what I forgot.
My brain is weird.
"Gav long time no see"My mom said and they winked at each other,I sighed
"Let me take it to you rooms"Jade said with a smile, Carrying our backpacks.
"Really?"We asked with a smile,Mine was really small though.
"Yes"He nodded.
"Thank you"We said as we handed him our backpacks
"Wait before you sit down i made a lot of banana bread for everyone,So you two will deliver each loaf to each room door we have in this house"My mom dropped like a bomb,This house was too Big.
"Babe,Can't we eat first?"Cai asked looking at her with puppy eyes
"Do you want to keep them hungry?"My mom asked we were hungry too.
"Fine"Cai and i said as we delivered to each door,I was extra tired before i was done,When we got back The rest had already started the project,We slumped on the couch.
"Great now you can have yours"My mom said and went back to her room.
"Jade wasn't lying when said this house is bigger than the rest of the house we have ever lived in"Cai said putting his head on my laps, Seriously he was acting like a Younger brother.
"This is the worst punishment ever"I said stuffing bread in his mouth and he stood up almost choking.
"Right what did you guys do, Mom wouldn't have subjected you to this if you didn't do something,She could have just called the cook of each floor and handed the loaf to them"Reel teased.
"Yeah,you must have done something"Treasure and Joy at the same time,Yeah,But what did we do.Then i suddenly remembered something.
"What is today's date?"I asked as i checked my calendar and Cai did the same,Damn it we forgot to clean our rooms.
"Today is the second Wednesday of the month"Cai and i said in frustration.
"Ohhh"Reel said seeming to understand and he laughed,He knows to much about me.
"Every second Friday of the month your mom checks your room"Reel stated the obvious again which was annoying, Because he was clearly rubbing it in.
Why do we have that stupid rule anyways.
"How do you know?"Joy and Treasure asked in confusion.
"I just know"He replied with a smile I'll say again he knows way too much about me.
"Yes your rooms are in a mess"Jade said from the kitchen with a smiley face, Sitting on the counter.
"Jade you are supposed to remind us"Cai said in frustration,Crossing him arms.
