Chapter Sixty-Five – A week later
Angel had been in El-Zanirah for eight days.
Eight full days.
And still, everything felt unreal.
The property was huge. Not just big—endless. High walls surrounded it, stretching far into the distance. Beyond them was nothing but desert and silence. No neighbors. No city sounds. No random people walking by.
Faruz had explained it on Angel's first morning.
"This is the Sheikh's private land," the young maid had said softly. "It belongs only to him. We are very far from the city."
"How far?" Angel had asked.
Faruz had paused, then answered carefully. "Miles."
Angel understood then.
This place wasn't just a home.
It was a fortress.
Now, on the evening of the eighth day, Angel walked slowly through the white rose garden. The sun was setting, painting the sky in soft orange and gold. The air smelled sweet, heavy with flowers she couldn't name.
The roses were everywhere.
