Chapter 4 - Chapter 2: Three Moments, Three Hearts

You looked to Chan, who gave you a supportive smile and a small nod before heading back to the group. Hyunjin motioned to a quieter corner of the rooftop. You followed, heart fluttering again for a completely different reason.

"I didn't want to say this in front of everyone," Hyunjin said, hands nervously playing with the rings on his fingers. "But... the way you carry yourself—it's really inspiring."

You blinked, touched. "Thank you. That means a lot."

He took a step closer, voice softer now. "And your eyes... I wasn't just saying they're beautiful. They made me feel something."

Your breath caught slightly.

"I don't know if I'll get another chance to say this," he added, "but I'm really glad you bumped into Chan today. Because... now I can't stop thinking about you."

His gaze was deep and sincere, the city lights dancing in his eyes. The air between you shifted. Now, it wasn't just about being a fan. It wasn't even about luck. It was about being seen—by more than one heart.

You stood in the quiet corner of the rooftop, Hyunjin's words still settling in your chest. The sincerity in his eyes made your pulse skip, and you could feel how real that moment was for him—for you, too. Before you could fully process it, a voice called out softly from across the rooftop.

"Everything okay?" Chan asked as he returned, casually holding two bottles of water.

Hyunjin glanced at you, then gave a small nod before stepping back toward the group.

"Yeah," he said quietly, almost reluctant to walk away.

You turned back to Chan, who handed you a bottle. "He's... intense, huh?"

You chuckled, shaking your head. "He's honest. It caught me off guard."

Chan leaned next to you against the railing again, the silence between you easy, like it didn't need to be filled. "If I'm being honest," he said, glancing sideways, "I'm kinda jealous."

You blinked. "Of what?"

"That he got to say those things first."

Your breath caught. But before you could respond, something shifted behind Chan. You looked past him... and locked eyes with Lee Know. He was sitting with the others, but he wasn't laughing or talking—just watching you...Noticing...Studying. And when your eyes met his, he didn't look away. He held your gaze. You tilted your head slightly and gave him a soft smile, silently asking, What is it? He stood up.

"Mind if I borrow her for a sec?" Lee Know asked, eyes flicking to Chan, then back to you.

Chan's brows lifted slightly, surprised but calm. "Sure."

You followed Lee Know toward the far side of the rooftop, not quite sure what to expect. He stopped near a quiet planter wall, hands in his pockets, still gazing at you with that unreadable expression.

"I wasn't trying to be weird," he said softly.

You raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"You noticed me staring."

You smiled gently. "Kinda hard not to."

He hesitated for a second, then looked down. "It's just... I don't usually open up to people fast. But you? You walk in here, calm, funny, strong... and they all lit up around you. I lit up around you, and I didn't even say anything."

You didn't speak—just let him talk.

"I guess I was watching because I didn't want to miss anything. You're not like anyone we've met. And part of me wonders if maybe I'm already a little too curious."

You smiled. "Curious is good. Especially when it's real."

Lee Know looked up at you, lips curling into the faintest smirk. "Just don't forget about the quiet ones."

You laughed softly, heart fluttering all over again. Three moments. Three hearts. One night. And now, as you walked back to the table with Lee Know beside you, you couldn't help but wonder...Which of these stars would burn brightest for you?

As you and Lee Know rejoined the group, the rooftop's energy remained light, but your heart felt heavier with thoughts. You hadn't meant to drift so far from Chan—not when he was about to say something important before everything shifted.

You found him again, sitting quietly on the edge of the seating area, staring out over the glowing city skyline. You hesitated for a moment, then walked up and sat beside him.

"Hey," you said gently.

He glanced at you, that same soft smile returning. "Hey."

"I'm sorry," you said honestly. "Before... you were about to say something, and then Lee Know asked to talk. I didn't mean to walk away from our moment."

He paused for a second, then shook his head. "You didn't. I get it. You've been thrown into this crazy situation—and somehow all of us ended up orbiting around you tonight."

You smiled. "Feels like I stepped into a parallel universe."

Chan laughed softly. "Feels like you are one."

You both sat quietly, watching the lights flicker across the lake in the distance. The wind picked up gently, brushing your hair across your cheek. Chan reached over without a word and tucked the strand behind your ear.

"Where are you sitting tomorrow?" he asked, almost casually—but his tone betrayed something hopeful.

"Section 146," you said, trying not to sound disappointed. "Seated. I wanted to be closer, but the floor tickets sold out fast."

Chan tilted his head. "You deserve better than that. I mean... after tonight? You're part of this now."

Before you could ask what he meant, Hyunjin appeared beside the two of you, holding his phone. "Hey... I was thinking," he said, eyes flicking between you and Chan, "If you're free tomorrow before the show, maybe we could hang out? I want to show you this little gallery near the venue. I think you'd love it."

You blinked, caught off guard by how intentional his invitation was.

Before you could answer, Lee Know stepped around the other side of the seating area, casually leaning on the back of the bench you were sitting on. "Or," he said coolly, "she could come walk the riverwalk with me. Less people. Just... talk."

Chan's brow lifted subtly, clearly noticing the energy shift. You looked between the three of them—all watching you, all waiting.

"Wow," you said softly, half-laughing. "I didn't expect this kind of attention when I spilled coffee all over myself earlier."

Chan leaned closer, voice low. "It's not the coffee, trust me."

You met his eyes—and that spark from earlier was still there, burning quietly beneath the surface. But now, it wasn't just one spark. Three connections. Three invitations.

And only one heart to follow.

You glanced at Hyunjin with his hopeful eyes, then at Lee Know with his unreadable smirk, and finally back to Chan—who was clearly holding something back behind his gentle expression.

A smile tugged at your lips as you crossed your arms playfully. "Why don't I just spend time with all three of you?"

They all blinked.

"Seriously," you continued, leaning back against the bench. "What time do you need to be at the stadium tomorrow?"

Hyunjin tilted his head. "Call time's not until noon. Soundcheck's later."

"So we do have time," you said, nodding. "The night's still young."

Chan chuckled. "You're bold."

You grinned at him. "I mean, you do owe me a new shirt, remember?" You motioned to the coffee stain that had long since dried. "Seems like a perfect excuse for a spontaneous night out."

Lee Know raised an eyebrow. "What's the plan then, Boss?"

You mock-saluted. "Emergency Management, remember? I coordinate chaos."

That earned a laugh from all three of them—Hyunjin even clapped once, amused and impressed.

Chan stood up, offering his hand. "Alright, lead the way. Let's make up for that coffee spill."

You took his hand, letting him pull you to your feet. "Only if we stop somewhere with AC first. I still smell like caramel drizzle."

Hyunjin jumped in beside you. "I know a late-night gallery nearby. Quick tour. I'll show you one painting that reminds me of you."

"And then we walk the river after?" Lee Know asked, casually slipping into step on your other side.

"Perfect," you said, sandwiched between them all. "Gallery, riverwalk, and shirt redemption. Sounds like the most chaotic pre-concert hangout ever."

Chan looked over at you with a proud smile. "I knew I liked you."

And with that, the four of you headed out into the glowing Orlando night—each step full of possibility, laughter echoing into the warm air as you realized this night might just change everything.
