Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Boring Dungeon.

"Achoo..." I sneezed.

Am I catching a cold? No, I'm sure that can't be true!

Maybe some beautiful woman is talking about me?

Anyway, I'm upset...

I expected the dungeon walk to be fun, but it turns out it wasn't. I've been in the dungeon for several hours now, and I'm currently on the fiftieth floor. At first, the monsters attacked me, but they quickly froze, turning to icy dust. Now, any monster that sees me simply runs away.

"I finally caught up with you," I said, looking at the minotaur, who had been running away from me for twenty whole floors.

I saw the fear in his eyes, but now he's cornered and decided to attack me. Of course, I didn't let this monster get close to me, so I simply froze it, and it suffered the same fate as the other monsters, after which it dropped a stone, just like so many times before. This is the main source of income in this dungeon, and I have... a lot of these stones...

I hope I didn't commit genocide on the first fifty floors... In any case, I think when I have a lot of valis. Maybe even enough for a new house.

Looking around, I smiled awkwardly...

I overdid it a bit, and all the floors with monsters, I didn't hold back, so they looked like icy deserts.

Anyway, I think I'll go home, I'm bored. Maybe in the next few days I'll complete the remaining floors, but right now I'm bored. And unfortunately, the black dragon hasn't appeared in front of me, even though he's supposedly a guardian, and I'm committing genocide here... Maybe he's afraid too?

By the way, speaking of the black dragon...

"And you'll be chasing me for a long time," I said, looking at the frozen tree from which Ais had emerged.

The blonde swordswoman simply looked at me with her inscrutable eyes.

She's been following me for a long time, but I saw no reason to give her away.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"Evernight," I answered simply.

"That's not what I meant. Are you even human? A human can't have that kind of power. For monsters to run away in fear, and for fifty floors to be frozen..." she said.

"They grow over time... I guess..." I replied, and then added.

"As for me... I don't know what to say, but given what you've seen, I'm sure you wouldn't believe me if I told you I'm human," I said, looking at the blonde.

Her expression was as indifferent as ever, so I couldn't tell what she was thinking.

"Yes... You're a goddess... But if that's true, how did you even enter the dungeon?" she asked.

And indeed, as far as I know, the dungeon doesn't like gods, which is why they can't accompany their family members on expeditions. But even though I'm supposedly a goddess, this world still doesn't know me and can't recognize my divinity, if I even have one.

"I'm not a goddess... I'm a demon!" I said jokingly, and I saw a small wrinkle above her brow.

"Demon... It doesn't matter... Can you help me make it stronger?" Ais asked.

Poor Ais and her desire for power, for revenge.

"Sorry, but I can't make you stronger," I said.

Honestly, there was no reason, and I didn't want to.

Maybe it's petty, but it's also because she wasn't my type.

Tucking a strand of my pink hair behind my ear, I looked at the slightly determined woman.

"But, I can just help you kill the black dragon," I said, not lying.

"Really? But how?" she asked, and I finally saw quite a range of emotions on her face.

"You saw my ice, right? I'll just freeze him so he can't move, and you just stab him in the head with your sword," she replied.

"That's... not what I expected..." she said, unsure.

"Anyway, think about it. I'm going back, since I'm already bored with the dungeon," I said with a yawn.

"I thought you wanted to reach the top floor," Ais said.

I simply shrugged.

"Not really. I don't really care about the dungeon, especially a mediocre one like that. Am I here to earn money, for my goddess?" I replied.

"I see... And you and Hestia..." She paused, but I understood the gist of her thoughts.

Shaking my head, I replied.

"Not yet."

"So, you're planning on being with her?" Ais asked.

"What kind of questions? Why are you asking about my personal life? Do you like me too?" I asked, smirking.

"I won't lie, I'm genuinely attracted to your strength. I would never have climbed to the fiftieth floor on my own, but following you, I decided to take the risk," the blonde said.

"Actually, when my goddess learned you went into the dungeon alone, she asked me to accompany you, but judging by..." she said, surveying the landscape around us, then looked at me again.

"Your strength exceeds all expectations," she said.

"Well, what can I say, I'm quite unique. And by the way, tell your goddess she's not my type," I said, to which she nodded.

"I'll tell her, but that won't stop her," Ais said.

"Then just agree to date her," I replied.

"But... we're both girls..." she began, but I interrupted her.

"Don't finish! I can't stand that, that verbal expression! And so what if you're both girls? Who said love between girls isn't possible? So don't give me that nonsense about you being girls, because that doesn't prevent love, and besides, it's a goddess!" I snapped.

But then I sighed.

"Sorry for yelling... Anyway, think about it. But know that you definitely won't regret it." Maybe Loki won't be so promiscuous when there's someone to rein her in.

"Anyway, let's go back," I said and walked past the blonde, who was still lost in her thoughts but nevertheless followed me.

Along the way, we passed through all the floors, which had already returned to normal but were rather deserted due to the lack of life on them.

I wonder if other people saw all this and reported it to the guild? In any case, it doesn't matter whether anyone finds out about my power or not.
