Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Dragon Attack.

"Um, Amber, do you always have this?" I asked, as a strong wind picked up in the city, blowing away almost everything that wasn't properly tempered.

"No... It's the Dragon! Run!" Amber screamed, and we ran after her.

But before we could get very far, a tornado caught up with us, sucking Lumin into it. I tried to grab her, but it didn't work. Unlike the others, I was able to withstand the tornado by freezing my feet to the ground. My abilities weren't working on me, so it was harmless. Besides, as soon as the tornado touched my ice, she froze immediately, which was a bit odd, though it does show it wasn't a normal wind, since it froze. Still, I kept an eye on Lumin, who was floating high in the air on her glider. Although ordinary people couldn't see what was happening in the air from the ground, I clearly saw Lumin flying on a glider. The Archon must have intervened, since she didn't fall.

Lumin began her confrontation with the dragon, and I watched her fight. Although I could have easily immobilized the dragon, I had no intention of doing so. I don't want history to change its narrative.

Although, I don't think I can help Lumine much.

With a wave of my hand, several red flowers appeared next to me, truly beautiful.

I couldn't resist petting one of them, and it seemed to have a consciousness, adjusting itself to my hand. It was a beautiful flower, very soft.

"I don't know if you understand me, little one, but if so, can you help me?" I asked, not expecting an answer, but the flower began to bounce energetically through the air.

"I see you're energetic, huh? Okay, up there in the sky, my friend is fighting a dragon, give her a little help," I said, continuing to pet the flower.

It seemed to nod to me and flew into the air, and the other flowers followed. As far as I remember, this wasn't in the game...

But one thing is certain: it does have some consciousness, and perhaps they act like a swarm, which makes me... their queen...

Meanwhile, I saw my little ones rise into the air and begin firing at the dragon, who growled in pain. The appearance of the flowers also surprised Lumine, but she immediately realized they were on her side.

Quite soon, the dragon flew away, and Lumine landed next to me.

"Evernight, are these your flowers?" she asked, to which I nodded, and soon enough they returned to me.

"You did a great job," I said, and began to stroke the soft petals.

"Are they alive?" Lumin asked, approaching me.

"Lumine, have you studied biology?" I asked, to which she stared at me in confusion.

"Bio, what?" she repeated.

Well, what was I hoping for?

Sigh...

"Lumine, flowers, trees, grass, all of it is alive," I said.

"I know that!" she countered. Well, even if she doesn't know the word biology, she still knows that practically everything in the world is alive, well, except for artificially constructed ones.

"And anyway, that's not what I mean! I mean, do they understand you? And what kind of flowers are these that can emit ice!?" Lumin asked.

"They have consciousness, to some extent, unlike other flowers," I said, petting the little ones.

Honestly, I didn't know how I'd summoned them, or where they'd go once I named them, but somehow I wasn't worried.

"Come here and pet them, they'll love it," I said, waving.

She awkwardly approached, reaching out to one of the little ones, but stopped without touching. I simply rolled my eyes, taking Lumin's hand in mine and placing it on one of the little flowers, forcing her to move closer, entering my personal space. As expected, she blushed.

"Gently..." she said, still blushing, but running her hand over the flower, which trembled.

"See, she likes you," I said.

"Her? Do flowers even have genders?" she asked, to which I didn't answer, as I didn't want to give her a biology lesson about pistils and stamens...

"Yes, it's a girl," I said, though it was hard to confirm.

"I see..." she replied, and I noticed she had come closer to me, but I didn't show it, until I heard her whisper about how nice I smelled...

Will girls really be constantly embarrassing me in this life?

"Evernight, can we pet them too?" I heard Paimon's voice, with Amber standing next to her.

I nodded, and they both came over and started petting the babies, too. I don't know how much time passed, and we were all so distracted we completely forgot that the city had just been attacked by a dragon, which we had driven off, until...

"Ahem..." We heard a cough, and turning to look at it, I saw a tall blonde with a ponytail, behind whom were several more people with weapons.

Of course, I recognized her immediately. A stately beauty, the Magister of an entire order, and one of my favorite characters—if someone asked me to date her, I'd say yes! But these are all just my fantasies, and I'm not sure I'm ready for a relationship yet. At least, I still need to get used to my body completely...

"Master Jean?!" Amber exclaimed in shock.

Well, I guess it's my fault that we completely forgot where we were going and what just happened...

Well, I don't regret anything...
