After taking my breakfast, I had spent most of my time in the library, searching desperately for somethin...anything that might give me even the slightest guidance on how to disappear from Vincent's life without leaving a trace he could follow. Every page I flipped added to my frustration. Every useless paragraph felt like a reminder that I was fighting an almost impossible battle.
Most of the books here didn't contain anything remotely useful. Of course they wouldn't. Vincent wasn't foolish enough to keep spell books lying around, or texts that detailed vulnerabilities in werewolves or soul bonds. But I still hoped. I still believed that somewhere on these shelves, I'd find something that would help me slip through his fingers.
