On Monday morning Ren Matsuda walked into sakura highschool with the confidence of someone who had no idea what he was doing.
He had spent the entire weekend planning his "new identity". And by planning. He was mostly staring at himself in the mirror while wearing a cheap leather jacket and trying different posses.
Now, with oversized sunglasses sliding down his nose and his shoelaces already half-open, he walked toward the gate like he was the king of second year.
Akio, walking beside him, sighed.
"Ren, you look like you're about to inspect mosquitoes in a village," he said.
"It's called style," Ren replied, pushing his glasses back up. "Real gangsters don't explain themselves."
"Real gangsters also know how to tie their shoes," Akio muttered.
Ren pretended not to hear.
Just as they reached the gate, something terrifying happened.
A pigeon landed right in front of Ren.
Ren froze. The pigeon stared.Ren stared back.
For a moment,it felt like a showdown from an old movie.
Then Ren panicked.
HEY! GO! SHOOT! HAAAYAAA! he yelled, flapping his arms like a confused windmill.
The pigeon took off instantly, probably questioning its life choices.
What Ren didn't know was that the Triple Claws—the self-declared bullies of their class—were standing nearby. They saw everything.
But they understood nothing.
ISOGAI whispered,"Bro...did he just threaten the pigeon?"
TAKESI swallowed hard."That bird ran like it owned him 500 hundred yen."
RYUJI voice shock."This guy is dangerous.We should keep distance"
Meanwhile Ren walked in the school feeling proud that he survived a pigeon.
By recess,the story had evolved something unbelievable.
"He scared a pigeon with one shout."
"He's the new gangster of school."
"People call him RDX now!"
Ren had no idea why people are staring at him like he was a celebrity.
Until Hana,the class topper,walked up to him with her usual calm expression.
"So" she said,closing her notebook,"you're the new gangster everyone's whispering about?"
Ren blinked,"Huh?Me?"
Hana raised her eyebrows. "Yes,you.Unless
there's another boy who threatens pigeon for fun."
And that was the moment Ren realised he had become... something.
Something Big.
Something he had absolutely zero control over.
The school newest "GANGSTER".
