Chapter 30 - 30

New York battlefield.

The battle had reached a fever pitch.

Thor and Tathos, two fierce men, fought from the ground to the sky, big hammer against small hammer, clashing head-on, sparks flying.

Each collision was like the tolling of a doomsday bell.

Captain America commanded the evacuation on the ground, while using his indestructible shield to block all the aftershocks of the battle.

Tony flew in the air, using his flexible maneuverability and endless array of weapons to constantly harass Tathos.

"Hey, Smurf! Your energy shield has a delay!"

"The left rear thruster's power is unstable, isn't it time for maintenance?"

"Seriously, is this all your kree technology has? Not even an anti-lock system?"

Tony's mouth was more annoying than his laser cannons.

Tathos was so bothered by him that he tried to deal with the 'iron can' several times, but was always entangled by Thor.

Just then.

A golden light tore through the sky and joined the battlefield.

It was Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers.

As soon as she appeared, she crashed directly into Tathos without a word.

"Tathos!"

Fury burned in Carol's eyes.

"Get off Earth!"

"Carol Danvers! You finally decided to show yourself!"

Tathos roared excitedly when he saw the main target appear.

He forced Thor back with one hammer strike and turned to face Carol.

Two powerhouses, both bathed in cosmic energy, crashed into each other in the air.

A circle of golden energy ripples spread out.

The energy level of the entire battlefield soared once again.

"Wow."

Tony whistled.

"Another one, it's really lively today."

He glanced at Thor next to him.

"Big guy, your blonde lady is here, do you feel a little less pressure?"

Thor wiped the dust from his face and snorted.

"I can handle him alone!"

Although he said so, the hand holding his hammer was trembling slightly.

The kree's strength exceeded his imagination.

Just as the Avengers were preparing to join forces to take down Tathos in one fell swoop.

A figure no one expected suddenly appeared in the very center of the battlefield.

As if he had appeared out of thin air.

He was wearing casual farm clothes, still stained with fresh soil, and his black hair fluttered in the wind.

With his hands in his pockets, he tilted his head, looking around with great interest.

It was Ter-Ror.

His appearance caused a strange one-second pause in the intense battlefield.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at this uninvited guest.

The Avengers were thinking: Who is this? How did he get here?

Tathos was thinking: Another Earthling? Isn't he afraid of death?

Far away at Trident Headquarters, Nick Fury couldn't help but clench his fist the moment he saw the surveillance footage.

"Damn it..."

Fury's single eye widened like a brass bell.

"He's here!"

On the battlefield.

Tony was the first to react.

"f.r.i.d.a.y.! Analyze that guy who suddenly appeared! Who is he? How did he do it?"

"Sir, unable to analyze."

f.r.i.d.a.y.'s voice was puzzled.

"He has no energy readings, just like an ordinary person."

"But... no ordinary person can appear ten thousand feet in the air in this manner."

"Ordinary person?"

Tony looked at the young man who seemed so relaxed and at ease, and couldn't see him as ordinary at all.

Captain America shouted into his communicator from the ground:

"Quick! That person! Get him out of there! It's too dangerous!"

Ter-Ror completely ignored the tense atmosphere around him.

His gaze swept over the several people on the battlefield.

Finally, it landed on Tathos.

"You."

He extended a finger, pointing at the big blue-skinned guy.

"Are you causing trouble?"

Tathos was so amused by this suddenly appearing Earthling that he laughed.

A seemingly unarmed mortal actually dared to speak to him in such a tone?

"A mere mortal dares to question me?"

Tathos raised his war hammer.

"Get down from the sky!"

He swung his hammer fiercely.

A destructive energy wave shot out from the hammer, heading towards Ter-Ror.

"Careful!"

Carol and Thor simultaneously cried out in alarm, wanting to rush forward to stop it, but it was already too late.

The energy wave was too fast.

It was about to engulf Ter-Ror.

However.

Ter-Ror just stood there, not moving at all.

He even yawned.

Just as the energy wave was about to touch his body.

He slowly raised his right hand.

And spread his five fingers.

It was as if he was catching a baseball flying towards him.

The next second.

That energy wave, powerful enough to level a small mountain, just... hit his palm.

It was cut into tiny energies by his fingers, bypassing Ter-Ror's position.

And exploded behind him.

The entire world seemed to have been put on mute.

Tony's expression under his faceplate froze.

Thor's hand, gripping Mjolnir, tightened even more.

The golden flames burning on Carol's body dimmed a few shades.

Captain America, on the ground, looked up at everything.

On Tathos's big blue face, the words 'impossible' were writ large.

He knew the power of his strike best.

Let alone a mortal, even an Asgardian warrior would never dare to take it head-on with their bare body!

But this man before him... not only took it.

He took it so effortlessly.

As if brushing off a bit of dust from his shoulder.

"That's it?"

Ter-Ror shook his slightly numb hand, a look of disappointment on his face.

"I thought it would be more impressive."

"Then I'll warm up."

He shook his head, then shifted his gaze from the dumbfounded Tathos.

He looked at Thor.

"You, the blonde guy with the hammer."

"You look a bit sturdier than him."

He then looked at Carol.

"And you, the glowing woman."

"You two, come at me together."

"Perhaps, you can help me stretch my muscles a bit."

His tone was as flat as if he were asking "How's the weather today?".

But the content of his words made all the heroes present feel an unprecedented absurdity.

And humiliation.

"What is this guy... saying?"

Tony muttered to himself.

"Is he... challenging Thor and Carol?"

"Is he crazy?"

Tathos also snapped back to reality.

To be so utterly disregarded by a mortal was a great shame for him as an Accuser.

"You're asking for death!"

He roared, abandoning Carol, and brandished his war hammer, charging at Ter-Ror once more.

He used his full strength.

The war hammer, imbued with the Kree Empire's most advanced technological energy, carried an aura that seemed to tear space itself, as it slammed fiercely towards Ter-Ror's head.

"Good timing!"

Ter-Ror's eyes finally lit up.

He didn't dodge.

He just met that giant hammer head-on, crashing into it!

Not with his head, but with his fist.

A seemingly ordinary, human fist.

Under everyone's gaze.

Fist and war hammer, in the air, collided violently.

There was no earth-shattering roar.

Only an extremely dull "CRACK."

It was the sound of metal shattering!

Under everyone's horrified gazes.

That versatile war hammer, forged from the Kree Empire's hardest alloy.

From the point of contact with the fist.

Broke into pieces!

Cracks spread like a spiderweb across the entire hammerhead.

Then.

"CRASH--"

It shattered into a sky full of metal fragments.
