Chapter 38 - Chapter 37: Turles Is Coming — Evil Descends Upon Earth Again!

After the events on Namek concluded, Earth entered an extremely rare period of peace.

Loren began his brand-new lazy life.

Basking in the sun. Taking afternoon naps. Staring at clouds and daydreaming. Drinking afternoon tea. Fishing.

However, this fragile tranquility was never meant to last.

Without any warning—

Waves of sinister, powerful ki descended upon Earth.

Inside Capsule Corporation's gravity training room.

Vegeta's body groaned under the crushing pressure. Every muscle trembled violently, and sweat completely soaked his blue battle suit.

He had to become stronger.

He must become stronger.

He would personally reclaim the glory that belonged to the Saiyan Prince.

Suddenly, Vegeta froze.

A strange yet familiar evil ki—originating from the same source.

Not just one.

Several of them.

"…Saiyans?"

At the same time, at Mount Paozu.

Goku and Piccolo, who were engaged in intense sparring, stopped simultaneously.

"This ki…"

Goku's usual innocent smile vanished, replaced by an unprecedented seriousness.

Piccolo's antennae trembled slightly, his expression turning grim.

Then, an anxious voice echoed directly inside Goku's mind.

It was King Kai.

"Goku! Can you hear me?! Goku!"

King Kai's voice was filled with urgency.

"King Kai? What happened?"

"This is bad, Goku! Earth is in serious trouble!"

"A group of evil cosmic warriors is heading toward Earth! Their leader is Turles—a Saiyan, just like you—and he's extremely powerful!"

"And they're carrying the Spirit Tree seed!"

"That tree will parasitize the planet's core and, in an extremely short time, drain all of Earth's life energy!"

"If it fully grows, everything on Earth will die!"

Goku's heart sank.

"King Kai! Where are they?!"

After receiving their approximate location, Goku immediately informed Piccolo and Gohan.

He hesitated briefly, then looked toward West City—

And contacted Vegeta as well.

No matter what, this concerned Earth's survival.

Vegeta responded with a cold snort.

"Remnants of lower-class warriors?"

"Perfect. I'll use your blood to test the results of my training."

Vegeta shut down the gravity chamber, shot into the sky, and transformed into a streak of light heading straight for the source of that evil ki.

He would not allow it.

No Saiyan would act arrogantly in front of Prince Vegeta.

Earth — a vast primeval forest.

Turles and his group of cosmic warriors descended from the sky.

He glanced up at the warm sun shining over the planet, a cruel smile spreading across his face.

"What a vibrant planet."

"It should produce very delicious fruit."

Without hesitation, Turles pulled out a seed radiating ominous energy and casually tossed it onto the ground.

"Let's begin."

The moment the seed touched the soil—

The entire planet seemed to cry out in agony.

RUMBLE—!

The Spirit Tree burst from the ground at a speed that defied nature.

Countless massive roots, like living pythons, plunged deep into the earth, greedily draining the planet's life energy.

Within a hundred-mile radius, forests withered at a visible pace.

Lush green leaves turned yellow, then crumbled into ash.

Vibrant land instantly became cracked, scorched wasteland.

Even the sky began to darken under an ominous haze.

When Goku, Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin arrived, they were greeted by a scene straight out of an apocalypse.

"How… how could this happen…"

Krillin trembled as he stared at the lifeless land.

Goku clenched his fists until they cracked, an overwhelming rage burning inside him.

Then their eyes fell upon the figures standing beneath the Spirit Tree.

Everyone froze.

Especially the man at the center.

"D-Dad…?"

Gohan called out instinctively—then recoiled in horror and hid behind Piccolo.

Krillin's eyes nearly popped out of his head as he pointed shakily.

"G-Goku…"

"That guy… why does he look exactly like you?!"

"No—this isn't right!"

Krillin rubbed his eyes hard.

"He looks even more like your real brother than Raditz ever did!"

Goku stared silently.

Same face. Same hairstyle.

But those eyes—

There was no kindness in them. Only cruelty, arrogance, and bottomless darkness.

As if they embodied everything Goku was not.

Beneath the Spirit Tree, Turles felt their presence and slowly turned around.

A cruel, mocking smile appeared on his face.

On a face identical to Goku's, that smile looked horrifyingly wrong.

"Oh?"

"So you finally arrived, you insects of this planet."

His gaze locked onto Goku, full of contempt.

"So you're Kakarot—the one exiled to this garbage planet?"

"You disappoint me."

Turles shook his head disdainfully.

"Living among lower races, protecting plants and weak creatures."

"Is this really how a Saiyan warrior should live?"

"You are a disgrace to our race."

"Shut up!"

Goku roared, his ki exploding outward.

"Who are you?! And why are you doing this to Earth?!"

Turles laughed, spreading his arms toward the dying land.

"I am a true Saiyan who seeks real power."

"As for this?"

He pointed to the Spirit Tree, fanaticism burning in his eyes.

"This is power, Kakarot!"

"This divine tree drains a planet's worthless life and condenses it into fruit!"

"Eat just one, and you gain unimaginable strength!"

"This is the Saiyan way—plunder, devour, evolve!"

"Not protecting mud and dirt like a fool!"

A violent shockwave descended from the sky.

Vegeta landed heavily in front of Goku and the others.

His killing intent was almost tangible.

"You disgusting lower-class trash."

"That face of yours alone offends this Prince."

Turles glanced at Vegeta, surprise flashing briefly before turning into scorn.

"Oh? The Prince of Planet Vegeta?"

"To think you've fallen so low, standing beside Kakarot."

"How pathetic."

Vegeta trembled with fury.

"Shut your filthy mouth!"

Vegeta and Goku exchanged a glance.

No words were needed.

In the next instant, both exploded with ki and charged forward, like twin cannonballs crashing into Turles's subordinates.

The battle erupted instantly.

Far away, thousands of miles from the battlefield.

In a remote mountain forest.

Loren had just woken from a perfect nap, lying lazily atop a sun-warmed rock.

A gentle breeze brushed his cheek, carrying the scent of grass.

Peaceful. Comfortable.

Just as he rolled over to find an even better sleeping position—

A cold, long-unheard voice pierced his mind.

[The God-level selection system]

[Warning: Planetary life energy is being rapidly drained by the Spirit Tree. Estimated time to complete ecosystem collapse: 48 hours.

Air quality, sunlight comfort, and food production will suffer catastrophic decline. This situation poses a severe threat to the host's future "lazy life" quality and stability.]

The relaxed expression on Loren's face froze completely.
