Alistair stood upstairs, watching the drama unfold between Scott and Silas. He wanted to hear the truth with his own ears, yet he didn't want that loud mouth to know he was the one in charge. If he let him leave this place alive, he didn't want him spreading lies that the Blackwood family kidnapped him. That alone could destroy the image the family had built for years.
"You will tell me now who Miss Riley is to you," Silas said, his face tight with anger as he leaned close to the man who was already trembling. He could smell his fear under the fake scent on his body.
"S-she was my ex fiancée," Scott stuttered as he looked around with wild eyes. Tears were already gathering. He didn't know who these people were, but he knew he had to say whatever would keep him alive. "We were supposed to get married today, but it got cancelled... that's all, sir."
Silas paused, taken aback. This was not the answer he expected. Or was this fool trying to save himself by denying his own fiancée?
