Nathan's phone rang as he held Fiona close, his executive assistant's voice coming through the line. "Mr. Nathan, Mr. John, your lawyer, is waiting for you at the office. He says it's urgent."
Nathan's eyes locked onto Fiona's, a hint of hesitation flashing across his face. He didn't want to leave her alone, not after what had just happened. "I'll be there soon," he said, his voice firm, and hung up.
He looked at Fiona. "You're coming with me," he said, his voice gentle but firm.
Fiona frowned. "Another surprise again?" she asked.
Nathan smiled, a reassuring smile. "Just the office," he said, leading her to the car.
