CHAPTER 3
Narrator's Pov
The next morning Valerie had to wake up and make dinner since Duncan wasn't ready to let Fiona out yet, she hated waking up early and wasn't used to it because Fiona did the cooking and most of everything. When she stepped into the kitchen, she was confused on what to make, she thought of making toast but knew Duncan wasn't a fan so she made pancakes instead. Later on the entire family gathered at the dinning table and began eating breakfast.
"Caroline"? Duncan called and she looked away from her phone.
"Yes daddy"?
"When you're done eating please could you take some pancakes to your sister"
Caroline stared at her mother confused, she hated being near Fiona.
"Um. Honey, there are no more pancakes left" Valerie quickly cut in.
"What do you mean by there are no more pancakes left"?
"Honey, she was rude to me last night and you expect me to cook for her"?
Duncan cast a glare at her, He wondered what kind of woman he married? No mother would cook and not include their daughter no matter her offense. Valerie noticed his expression and decided to act.
"Honey, you know how much I love you and our children but sometimes we've got to discipline them ".
"I did that by locking her in her room last night, Valerie she didn't have lunch or dinner last night!! Stop being unreasonable? You know what? I'll just order something for her to eat".
Valerie watched as Duncan left the table angrily, he didn't even finish his meal.
"Now what"? Caroline asked.
Few minutes later the door bell rang and Caroline decided to answer the door, she opened it and saw a delivery guy, he had pizza and ice cream with him, Duncan came out and took the orders giving the man some cash.
"Caroline, go call your sister" Duncan told her and she cast an angry stare at her mom before leaving.
As soon as he closed the door, Valerie approached him.
"Honey, you'll be late for work, the clock is ticking already. I apologise for my behaviour earlier let me give this to Fiona instead while you go"
"Tell her, I'll be back shortly, I just want to quickly observe some buildings and will be back soon".
"No problem hon. Have a great day "
She said sweetly and kissed him before he left.
"Dad, I can't find the key....Where's Dad"? Caroline asked.
"Out. Now come let's enjoy this delicious treat together"
She said with a grin and Caroline smiled.
"What about Fiona? I can't find the keys" Caroline said.
"Let her be, we'll let her out later".
