Chapter 37 - Chapter Thirty-Six: New Ships

It was another peaceful and stable day. Vadil's radar station detected a Hammerhead-class cruiser arriving in the Mandalore system and even docking next to the planet Shukut, as if waiting for something.

In the space surrounding Shukut, Joel Hawke sent a communication to Kote, informing him that the ship was in position and waiting for him to bring the money.

Kote, leading his men in Kom'rk-class fighter-transports, arrived near the Hammerhead-class cruiser and sent a communication to Joel, requesting them to open the hangar so his ships could enter. After activating auto-docking and parking in the hangar, Kote immediately saw an Aurek-class A-wing parked inside upon disembarking.

Joel was already waiting in the hangar for Kote's arrival.

"Oh, my dear client, you've finally arrived. How about it? This was built only ten years ago, practically brand new," Joel enthusiastically introduced the Hammerhead-class cruiser.

"Not bad, but where are the blueprints I asked for?" Kote held out his hand to demand them.

Joel took out a datapad and pointed, "They're all here. Of course, payment is required first, but the blueprints will cost an extra one million credits."

"You'll get what's yours," Kote immediately had his men unload the cargo from the ship. It was full of spice confiscated earlier. "This is five million credits worth of spice in total." He added, "The remaining six million will be transferred from my account."

Joel stated his account number, and Kote nodded, instructing his nearby men to transfer the money immediately.

Joel kept refreshing his account to see if his credits had arrived. "Thank you for your generosity. Here are the blueprints you requested." Joel handed the datapad to his big patron with both hands, showing respect.

Kote took the datapad and examined it carefully, but couldn't quite understand it, so he handed it directly to the technical personnel who had accompanied him.

"No problem, boss," the technician checked it and nodded.

"If you need any other services, you can always come to me, your most trustworthy partner. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be leaving," Joel bowed and, with his crew, boarded a shuttle and departed from the Hammerhead-class cruiser.

"Boss, didn't the government forbid further purchases of large warships?" Omen, standing nearby, was completely baffled as to why his boss bought blueprints and this frigate.

"Omen, as you said before, there are countless slavers and organizations like the Trade Federation oppressing people in the galaxy. But due to my identity, I can't independently eliminate them. So, I must have a secret identity. Even if it's not a secret to others, at least it's a formality," Kote explained.

"So, boss, you mean we should create a similar organization to fight fire with fire?" Omen generally understood Kote's meaning.

"You could say that, but for now, we can only operate in the Mandalore sector. And we need to produce more fighters and frigates. As long as we become the strongest pirates in this sector…"

"Then we can rob other pirates to support ourselves and eliminate them all?"

"No, we only need to make them fear us!"

"What about personnel?"

"Don't we have a security company? Select four hundred people from there to serve on the Hammerhead-class cruiser, and I will lead them personally."

"Understood," Omen grasped Kote's meaning and began to implement the plan.

The Hammerhead-class cruiser docked at Starport 1 on Vadil. Omen began selecting personnel, while Kote, carrying the datapad with the blueprints, walked into the Hyperion, hidden deep in the mountains.

As soon as he entered the Hyperion, the adjutant, controlling an SCV, approached Kote.

"It's a pleasure to see you, Commander Kote. Are you intending to activate the Hyperion?"

"No, wait. I've had a good idea. Use the Hammerhead-class cruiser as the pirate flagship, and the Hyperion as the security company's flagship. First, we raid, then we offer security for hire. Won't all the credits come to me? Adjutant, you really enlightened me!" A lightbulb seemed to appear above Kote's head.

"Uh, as long as you're happy. Shall we initiate launch now?"

"No, I will notify you in a few days. That will be the moment the Hyperion reappears in the universe. For now, I've brought new blueprints that might be very useful for updating your other blueprints." Kote took the datapad and directly inserted it into the central computer on the bridge.

The central computer ran quickly, soon completing the analysis of the blueprints. "This will greatly accelerate our blueprint modifications. What would have originally taken two years can now be completed in just half a year, and we can even produce more weapons and equipment," the adjutant conveyed with a somewhat pleased tone.

"Excellent, then this money wasn't wasted. But if we want to produce new Behemoth-class battleships, can we do it?"

"We need to build more starports. With the current starport capacity, even building a Valkyrie-class frigate takes several months. For a Behemoth-class, it would take at least two years to build. If it's the higher-tier Minotaur-class or Gorgon-class, it would take even longer," the adjutant calculated, based on the current base scale if they were to build them.

"Then let's start extensively expanding our starports and military factories. In one year, I want to see the first Thor appear, and eleven Aurek-class A-wings completed in two months."

"Your will is paramount. I will change the current mode to mass production mode, and will construct new starports in the asteroid belt to build new ships, and incidentally begin building new mining facilities and a planetary base in the asteroid belt," the adjutant quickly completed the mode change.

"Very good, Adjutant, I'll leave all this to you for now. However, I need a copy of you to put on our newly acquired frigate."

"Understood, I will replicate a consciousness," the adjutant controlled the central computer to copy a part of its consciousness onto a datapad.

"If there are any other needs, just send me a message," Kote said, taking the datapad and leaving the Hyperion.

However, the adjutant on the Hyperion was observing records of the Protoss and Terrans' development, training, and application of psionics (or rather, ghost abilities), ultimately reaching a peculiar conclusion: "The Force and psionics are quite similar. Perhaps the commander could use the Protoss method to utilize the Force."

Kote, who had already left the Hyperion and returned to the camp, was clearly unaware of what the adjutant was up to. But for now, he needed to ask the people in the camp if they were willing to play pirates.

Arriving at the door of a house, Kote knocked. Soon, a Mandalorian opened the door, but seeing Kote, he immediately stood at attention. Although Kote was still a child, no one treated him like a twelve-year-old. They saw him as their current spiritual leader, a man destined to lead the Mandalorians to the pinnacle of the galaxy in the future.

"Commander," the man saluted directly.

"Don't be so tense. When there's no mission, everyone is an ordinary person."

"Please, Commander," the man gestured for Kote to enter first.

Inside the house, Kote sat on the sofa, and the man sat beside him. "Commander, do you have a mission?"

"Nothing much, just asking how everyone is doing on Vadil."

"Very well, Commander. Here, everything we have is supported by the company. We don't have to spend any money at all, only occasionally when we go to town."

"That's good. But if I asked you to leave Vadil and serve on a warship, would you accept?"

"For Mandalore, I am willing to do anything, as long as it is your command. Besides, staying on Vadil has made my body a bit rusty," the man patted his back.

"Then if I asked you to be a space pirate, would you be willing?" Kote looked at the man.

"For Mandalore, but I will not force ordinary civilians. I cannot do that," the man lowered his head. "However, if it is Commander Kote's command, I am willing." He looked up again, his eyes gleaming.

"Do you think I would let you harm civilians? No, this is just one part of our mission to protect the people," Kote patted the man's shoulder. "Meet at Starport 1 on Friday morning." After saying that, Kote left the man's house and went to the next one.

After three days of visits, Kote selected four hundred soldiers, arranging them into two companies and three platoons to serve on the Hammerhead-class cruiser. He also discovered that these Mandalorians held a natural spiritual reverence for him, which surprised him somewhat.
