Third POV
"So how am I still alive?"
A young boy, about 12 years old, grey of hair and ruby red eyes, asked the girl infront of him.
A beautiful girl with almond eyes with long blond hair with blue hair tips, Latia as she had introduced herself.
" I reincarnated you as a Devil, a Knight as a part of my peerage." The blonde girl patiently explained, for the second time causing the other youth to sigh.
'And here I thought I was reincarnated in the regular world.' The boy mused as he looked at the gir infront of him, no a Devil.
It didn't require much to connect the dots, to know which world he was reincarnated in.
Reincarnation. Devil. A Knight. Peerage.
That was a theme of one of the anime's he head watched prior to his demise, all the things that were being spoken were similar to that of that Anime.
But he needed confirmation.
"The way you are speaking, it's as though.."
"As though I myself am a Devil?" Latia completed the sentence, as she nodded her head.
Latia was glad he was finally accepting that she had reincarnated him, before formally introducing myself.
"That is true, my full name is Latia Astaroth. Descending from the line of Duke Astaroth and the Arch Duke." Latia stood up her the chair as she introduced herself, looking at the one she reincarnated lying on the bed. "Though in hindsight I should have gone with that."
The young boy tilted his head, not understanding the stare he was getting from the Devil, before realisation donned on him.
"Ah right, I am Ferey, just call me Frey it's easier." The boy introduced him, the whole shock of having died and reincarnated and then being told he was a devil had prevented any introduction form anyone's part.
But either way, that all but confirmed he was Truly in the world HighSchool DxD.
A fictional world formerly now his reality, a world where every mythology exists.Where sorts of species and creatures exists.
A world where a character was able to beat God just by being obsessed with boobs enough.
"Is everything alright?"
"Nothing alright, I had a hole punched through my torso and now I am a devil." Frey chuckled as he looked at the Devil.
"It will take time to accept everything that has happened." Latia nodded her head, as she looked at the newly reincarnated Devil.
A moment of silence ensued between the two, Frey tried to process everything happening while Latia gave him some space to process everything.
"What will happen now?"
"That depends on your decision." Frey looked at her quizzically.
"It depends on me?" To which Latia once again nodded her head.
"Moving forward you have two choices, to either stay by my side and become my knight." Latia lifted her hand, showing two fingers as she explained his circumstances. " Or you can choose not to."
That last part caught the young boy by surprise, was that even possible?
Going by his knowledge of the story, if he decided against being a part of a peerage after being reincarnated he would become a Stray.
The very thing that killed him.
"There is no need to be shocked." Latia chuckled as he looked at Frey's confused expression. "Well you can choose not to be a part of my peerage, I can have you be settled within the territory my family over looks whether they be in this world or underworld."
'*Sigh* What should I do? No, what can I do?' Frey thought to himself, as he reclined on the bed.
"What are the benefits of me joining you?" Frey knew he was asking for much, considering his circumstances.
"Well there are a lot of benefits of you being my knight, such as having some of the best teachers in the underworld to help you grow. You would have the protection of House Astaroth." Latia explained, fiddling her fingers, as she looked straight into Frey's eyes. "And overtime you can become an High Class Devil, like myself, and receive your own Evil Pieces."
"And if you become an Ultimate Class Devil, you will receive the right to choose a part of the Underworld as their territory."
On paper everything she had said was great, but all of them existed either for the betterment of her peerage or in hypothetical 'If'.
And he didn't have the illusion of all Devils being like the two heiress mentioned in the story.
"Before I make my decision, could you tell me one thing truthfully?" Latia nodded her, expectantly. "What were you doing where I died?"
Silence followed his question, it was an important question. One that could shape who he would become.
"Me and my companion were charged with tracking down the stray, since we were in the territory nearby. " Latia looked down, as she reiterated what had happened.
"And by the time you tracked it down, it had gotten me."Latia nodded her head, not looking upwards at him. "But why did you reincarnate me?"
"I-I felt responsible for it." Latia answered as her voice cracked. " If I had arrived earlier, you wouldn't have D-Died."
'So she felt responsible?' Frey thought as he stared at the Devil.
There were three options for Frey to choose from, now that he was already a Devil.
1. Become a stray at any point.
2. Become a peasant Devil, with some benefits.
3. Or stay by her side, and become her knight.
'Well there is only one option..' Frey sighed outloud causing the Young devil to flinch, for some reason.
While he wouldn't consider himself a good judge of character, but it didn't seem like Latia was someone inherently bad or evil.
She had patience to hear and answer his question, and she was telling the truth about his reincarnation circumstances, she fit it out of guilt.
'I don't need her to be a saint, I just need her to be someone neutral at worst.'
"Well then what do I have to do to be your knight?" Frey stepped out the bed, as he stood infront of Latia. Who finally raised her head, Joy clearly evident on her face.

Also, Latia is just Rias's foil is certain regard, similar yet different.
Nephew of a Maou rather than being the younger sister of one. Being related to Ajuka rather than Sirzechs. Born in a branch family compared to being born as heir to the main family.
Yet both are quite similar, both being born of parents from two different Clans. Both are in the end related to one of the Super Devil and Maou. And both have similar propor- sorry no need for that is here.
And, I gave the Mc Twice Critical, he will be taking that to extreme within reason. His name is a hint on who he truly is. He is opposite of Issei, not in personality but history.
