Chapter 30: The Beginning of Us
Jay's POV:
The morning sun spilled into our bedroom, painting everything gold. Kaiz was curled up against Keifer, soft snores vibrating through the warmth of the bed. My hand rested lightly on my stomach, still not fully believing what I had felt the day before.
Keifer stirred, opening his eyes slowly, blinking against the light. His gaze landed on me, and his smile—slow, knowing, and full of adoration—made my heart skip.
"Morning, Mumma," Kaiz murmured, rubbing his eyes, his tiny fingers curling into mine.
I leaned over, brushing a kiss across his forehead. "Morning, my little man. Did you sleep well?"
"Like a prince!" he declared, throwing his arms around Keifer.
Keifer laughed, holding him close, and I watched them both for a moment—the boy I had come to love like my own, the man who had once terrified me with his intensity but now made me feel safe and cherished. My chest tightened, and I felt it—the flutter, the warmth, the undeniable reality. I was pregnant. Our baby.
I gently nudged Keifer awake, resting my hand on his chest. "Keifer," I whispered softly. "I… I think I'm pregnant."
His eyes widened, then softened in a way that made my knees weak. He scooped me up into his arms, holding me against him as though I were the most fragile, precious thing in the world.
"Pregnant?" he murmured, voice husky, fingers brushing my hair back. "Are you sure?"
I nodded, smiling through tears. "Yes. I took the test yesterday… twice."
His grin spread slowly, that dangerous, infuriating, breathtaking grin that could melt my resolve. "Our baby," he breathed, voice trembling with awe and disbelief. "Jay… we're going to have a baby."
Kaiz, curious, peeked out from between the covers. "Baby?" he asked. His small hand reached for mine.
"Yes, little one," I said softly, brushing his hair back. "You're going to be a big brother."
Kaiz's eyes sparkled, and he clapped his hands together. "Big brother! I'll protect the baby!"
Keifer laughed, pressing his lips to my forehead. "I think you two are going to make the perfect team." His hand slid to my stomach, gentle but possessive. "This little one is already loved beyond measure."
I leaned into him, heart overflowing. "I never thought… I mean, after everything… we'd get here. Together. A family."
His lips captured mine, slow, lingering, full of promise and heat. Hands roamed with tender urgency, holding me, grounding me, reminding me that we belonged entirely to each other.
"You're glowing," he whispered against my lips, a low, intimate chuckle in his voice. "And soon, this baby…" He trailed off, letting his hands linger over my stomach. "Our love made this possible."
I closed my eyes, savoring the warmth of his touch, the weight of Kaiz nestled between us, the intimacy that was no longer whispered but lived. This was us—messy, chaotic, beautiful, unstoppable.
"Keifer," I murmured, breath hitching. "I… I love you. Both of you."
He tightened his hold, resting his forehead against mine. "And I love you. Always. Forever. Nothing can ever break us—not scandals, not lies, not anyone."
Kaiz yawned, curling back against us. "Mom… Dad… can we have pancakes?"
I laughed, brushing a kiss across Keifer's cheek. "Of course, little man. Pancakes for the heroes of the house."
As we got up together, a soft sense of peace settled over the mansion. The chaos of the media, the rumors, the past—all of it seemed distant and meaningless. What mattered was here: this love, our family, the little life growing inside me, and the boy who had already stolen our hearts.
Keifer lifted me into his arms, carrying me toward the kitchen. "Let's make this house a home," he whispered.
I nestled against him, letting him feel my heartbeat. "Our home," I corrected softly, smiling. "Together."
He pressed a kiss to my temple, fingers brushing the curve of my stomach once more. "Together forever," he vowed.
And as Kaiz danced around our feet, chattering about pancakes and baby names, I knew, without a doubt, that this was only the beginning. The beginning of love fully claimed, of a family fully realized, and of a life we would build together, hand in hand.
The chapters of our lives had been messy, complicated, sometimes painful—but this one, this moment, was ours. And it would shine forever.
