Hi everyone!
Crossover_Passerby here.
Just want to put this out since we are currently celebrating the 6th Anniversary of Genshin Impact as well as my 6th anniversary of playing this game!
Yep, you heard me right, I've been playing this game since launch which makes me a fossil in comparison to the likes of you young whipper snappers out there!
I still remember how I first started playing this wonderful game (*cue nostalgic background music*)...
...
....
....
Yeah, let's skip out the sappy parts. Now for this edition of the Author's Herald, I'll be answering some questions I've noticed down in the comment section of the previous chapters.
1). Since when did you start playing Genshin?
- Welp, already answered that on the intro, but for the specifics well... before Genshin I mostly played FGO and during the pandemic (2020) when I was all alone and dying of boredom inside my room at the local COVID quarantine facility (yes, I got COVID at that time 😷), some of my buddies on Facebook recommended me this Zelda Breath of the Wild Rip-off that was about to launch later that day.
So, out of curiosity and since I got nothing else to do at that time, I downloaded the game using my patented potato phone. Took me almost 2 whole hours just to download the whole damn thing and when it's finished downloading the sun had already set!
I initially have low expectations towards the game, but after spending a few hours....well let's just say I got hooked up and for the next 6 years I've been playing this game almost none stop!
So, thank you Hoyo for delivering such a high maintenance game and inadvertently sucking out my walle dry just for the sake of it! 😉 💸
2). How did this fanfic came about?
- It's kinda random actually. I've been toying with the idea of writing my own fanfiction story for years now but unfortunately I wasn't able to fully commit anything at that time.
- Last year, however (at around October), I was busy scribbling in my desk when I suddenly just started writing down the whole thing. I've been an Artoria fan since the original Fate Stay Night anime came out, and since there's a lack of Artoria - centric fanfictions out there I began to entertain ideas involving the said character on an Isekai setting (with a twist that is).
3). Why has the updates slowed down lately?
- Time my readers. Since the start of the year, especially after my hospital confinement, my real life workload had significantly ballooned leaving me with only a few hours to write anything. Not to mention the stress and fatigue from my line of work would always leave me drained out.
4). What's up with your writing style?
- Well, I don't have a concrete one so to speak. I've been reading a lot of novels and fanfictions for a very long time, so I kinda just tried to piece together somethings that I've learned from most of them. As you all know, my chapters are kinda long individually and more dialogue heavy, so I guess that can be considered as part of my style? Anyways, to tell you guys the truth my grammar is not the best out there and the usage of capital or bold words do sometimes annoy some of you guys, but I'll try my best to improve (that is also one of the reasons as to why I am slowly editing the first chapters that I've published so that they may appear proper).
5). What happens after Liyue? Will there be another Volumes?
- Yes. I've been informing about the future of the story for quite some time now. Though the current Volume is making progress at a snail's pace, I've already planned out the general outline for Volume 3 and the early parts of Volume 4. Both Volumes will be divided into several arcs with Volume 3 focusing more on growth and world building in preparation while Volume 4 is where we get to the proper Genshin Timeline...or atleast what constitutes a timeline considering the ripple effect of Artoria's past, current and future actions would do to the flow of fate in Teyvat. Also the Traveler and Paimon will make their actual proper appearance starting on that volume!
Also, just to tease everyone, here some images concerning some of the characters and events that will happen on Volume 3 and 4. Think of them as a sort of spoiler or preview 😉
(Volume 3)
- After the events on Liyue, the eyes of the world began to turn towards the direction of Mondstadt. What do they seek? But more importantly what do they hope to achieve in going to the very Den of the Lioness?
- Unspoken wish granted. The embers of the past... the one who ignited the flames of rebellion is given a second chance.
- You who came back, had shepherd our nation and defended its freedom. Like a child you nurtured it and through your guidance it grew into something that even the rules of this world could have predicted. And now as you began to pass down down the mantle you have readily accepted all those years ago, your very people cried out as one and presented you with another. Oh great mother of our nation, the throne you've built awaits.
(Volume 4)
- After the claws of the abyss tried to corrupt the very land beloved by the goddess herself, one of those who guard the slumbering throne began to make her move. Be it through sheer hubris and arrogance, Death will come to realize its place in the grand scheme of Destruction.
- She whose virtue is Eternity decided to impose her ironclad will upon her people causing them to cry out. Due to her folly however, she inadvertently earned the wrath of Freedom.
- Both are Rulers. Both are Mothers. One buried her love for her nation and people under thick snow, the other allowed hers to be carried upon the very winds she control, blanketing her realm with it. They will finally meet and the Heavens will shake.
6). When will be the next chapter be out?
- This weekend (be it on Saturday or Sunday). It will not be chapter 41 but rather an interlude that that would revolve around the Geo Archon himself and will explain about his life and his struggles in the past.
- Interlude V: Vago Mundo
And that's basically it for now. Hope you guys are enjoying Genshin's 6th Year anniversary and all its rewards!
As always, Crossover_Passerby signing out!
