Chapter 91 - Chapter 91: Thetis's Scheme

The group emerged from the tank.

Arthur said, "This tank is indeed powerful. It blasted that thick-skinned troll into such a state."

Bill sighed, "Indeed. Confringo can't kill a troll."

Arthur looked at the children. "You all step back. Bill and I will deal with this guy."

Just as Arthur finished speaking, Audrey had already waved her wand.

"Diffindo!"

The troll's legs were severed at the knees. Its massive body lunged forward, falling face-first into the dirt.

The troll couldn't comprehend how his legs had suddenly broken. After scrambling to sit up, he touched the severed cross-section with his hand.

"Roar! Roar!"

"Pain, pain!"

Arthur never expected Audrey to strike so decisively. Her casting technique, spell power, and spell precision were all top-notch.

He had heard from the children that Audrey was a magical genius. Now seeing it with his own eyes, her reputation was indeed well-deserved.

Audrey walked up to the troll and switched to her Legilimency constitution.

Pain, so much pain!

Mommy, I want to go home.

No, I must obey Lady Thetis's orders!

I want to capture this little one!

But my legs are shorter now, I might not be able to catch her!

The troll's brain was very simple; these were the few sentences going back and forth.

But Audrey roughly understood the origin of the matter.

It really was the goblin Thetis!

In Audrey's impression, that female goblin was deeply scheming and would definitely not pin her hopes on just these two trolls, so she must have other backup plans.

Audrey switched constitutions and began to peer into the future. A moment later, a faint smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

So that's how it is!

Suddenly, a red light shot out from the woods. Since Audrey had seen the future, how could she let a sneak attack succeed?

With a light wave of her wand, she deflected the Stunning Spell.

Subsequently, seven or eight goblins walked out of the forest.

Arthur's expression was grave because all those goblins held wands in their hands.

If it were one-on-one, he was confident he could defeat one of the goblins, but with so many here, he didn't feel confident at all.

Audrey took out the mask she received at Christmas and put it on her face. Immediately, she was filled with a mysterious Slytherin aura.

"Arthur, take them back into the tank. I'll handle things here."

"But Audrey, these goblins all have wands!"

"Ants holding weapons are still ants. Don't worry."

Audrey walked towards the goblins.

Arthur turned back to usher Rick and the children into the tank to hide, but he himself didn't go in.

Although Audrey spoke confidently, how could he let a little girl face those dangers directly?

Not to mention that he had invited Audrey; if he, the host, retreated first upon encountering danger, what kind of behavior would that be?

He couldn't get past his own conscience!

But the next moment, he almost couldn't believe his eyes, because Audrey charged into the midst of the goblins with extreme speed.

Not only was she fast, but her movements were elusive. Arthur didn't know how to describe it; if forced to say, he felt that Audrey at this moment was like an accelerated Dementor.

Wanting to help, he ended up becoming a spectator.

Because every time Audrey moved, she would fire a Cutting Curse. She was like the Grim Reaper, wandering among the enemy ranks, wantonly harvesting the enemies' lives.

"Audrey is really ruthless," Bill sighed, watching the situation outside through the observation port and periscope inside the tank. "Ron, is this how they teach you the Cutting Curse at Hogwarts now?"

Ron shook his head repeatedly. "I haven't learned the Cutting Curse yet, I don't know."

Fred said, "No, the school wouldn't allow us to use the Cutting Curse on human bodies!"

Ron said hatefully, "It's all the Sorting Hat's fault for sorting Audrey into Slytherin House. She hangs out with that bunch of dark wizards every day; she's been led astray by them!"

On the field, out of a total of eight goblins, five were dead and two were injured. Their morale was completely gone, and they were on the verge of collapse.

How could they fight this?

Their side couldn't even touch a hair on her head, but her attacks were fast and ruthless—death upon contact, injury upon impact!

Suddenly, three more spells broke through the air. However, the targets weren't Audrey, but the three goblins who were temporarily still alive.

The goblins were caught off guard and fainted one after another.

It turned out those were three Stunning Spells.

As the battle ended, a graceful figure walked out.

"Impressive, impressive! I didn't expect Miss Astley to have such magical attainment at such a young age. It really opened my eyes!"

A highly recognizable husky alto voice—the newcomer was none other than the goblin Thetis.

"Thetis's Scheme"

"Apologies, Miss Astley, for startling you. These are traitors among us goblins. They were all once subordinates of the Gringotts Elders. They hate you for bringing down Gringotts, so they came to seek revenge on you!"

Thetis walked closer with empty hands. "I found out about their plan and rushed over immediately. Despite hurrying, I still arrived late!"

Audrey's eyes narrowed slightly. Without taking off her mask, her voice betrayed no emotion. "So, I should thank Miss Thetis then?"

Thetis waved her hands repeatedly. "No, no, no, I didn't help at all. Even if I hadn't acted, Miss Astley could have solved these people by herself, right?"

"Besides, this is inherently the goblins' fault. Even if I really had helped, I wouldn't dare let you say a word of thanks!"

Audrey had confirmed that this entire affair was planned by Thetis from beginning to end.

Because her current constitution was Dementor + Legilimency. This constitution was even obtained from Thetis herself!

Audrey suddenly smiled brightly. "Miss Thetis, I have a question. I wonder if you can help clarify it for me?"

"Please ask."

Audrey rested her chin on her hand. "I know these goblins and those two trolls were arranged by you (at this, Thetis's expression changed drastically)."

Audrey continued, "You probably wanted to stage a 'heroine saves the beauty' act, then make me grateful, so you could logically ask me to help you excavate the Nordic ruins, right?"

"Of course, my question isn't about this, after all, I'm already very clear on these matters (Thetis's eyes narrowed slightly, filled with a dangerous aura)."

Audrey looked at Thetis's expression, which was about to crack, and felt delighted inside. "What I want to ask is, how on earth did you know I was at the Weasleys' today?"

Thetis was silent for a moment, then said in a deep voice, "I don't understand, Miss Astley. Why do you resist helping us excavate the ruins so much?"

"Why?"

Having read the cause and effect from Thetis's unguarded mind after asking that question just now, Audrey wanted to toy with this female goblin who had attempted to plot against her.

"Because I'm not interested!" Audrey laughed. "I now possess wealth far exceeding the former Gringotts. How could a mere ruin possibly attract me?"

"Besides, I have no interest in ancient magic. After all, I don't have a grandfather named Ranrok."

Thetis was shocked. She felt she had no secrets in Audrey's eyes. This feeling of being seemingly naked, with nowhere to hide, was simply terrible!

"The informer was Fudge, right!" Audrey suddenly said. "Aurors had arranged personnel near my house earlier. They were naturally aware of my movements today."

Audrey stared at Thetis intently. "Within the Ministry of Magic, the one who has the authority to know my whereabouts and can accept your goblin bribes without scruples—besides Minister Fudge, I can't think of anyone else!"

Even though she had read the information directly from the other party's mind, she insisted on pretending she had deduced it herself. This was probably Audrey's bad taste.

Thetis nodded. "Admirable intellect, Miss Astley. Losing to you is not unjust, only..."

"Stupefy!"

Although Thetis's sneak attack was fast and sudden, in reality, she didn't expect this single strike to succeed. She was merely creating an opportunity for her own escape.

One had to know that just now, Audrey slaughtered her subordinates as easily as chopping melons and vegetables, and her combat power wasn't necessarily much stronger than those subordinates!

However, Audrey seemed completely unaware of this sneak attack, and the spell hit her squarely.

Thetis was overjoyed!

This was truly a pleasant surprise. She hadn't expected her sneak attack to actually succeed?

"Ah, ah, I've been hit by a Stunning Spell," Audrey clutched her stomach, her whole body trembling. "Ah, ah, I've fainted! I'm going to be captured!"

Thetis: "..."

Audrey raised her head, no longer holding back her laughter. "Hahahaha, Miss Thetis, are you surprised? Was it unexpected?"

A Dementor's constitution feared almost no magic except the Patronus Charm! However, this time, what blocked Thetis's sneak attack wasn't her constitution, but the Shield Charm inherent in the green mask!

This master-level Shield Charm was extremely stable; how could it be breached by Thetis, who only had 2 Ludo of power?

Audrey raised her wand. The joke was over; she needed to deal with Thetis quickly.

Keeping this female goblin alive would ultimately be a disaster.

If you cut the grass without removing the roots, it will grow again when the spring breeze blows.

She wasn't Dumbledore; she wouldn't leave opportunities for such dangerous elements.

"Diffindo!"
