Chapter 1 - Is the System Bugged?

Sabaody Archipelago, Area 13 — Port District.

Ron sat at the entrance of a run-down tavern, eyes fixed on the distant sea where the sunset painted the horizon gold. Seagulls wheeled in the air — some lonely, some full of life.

My name's Ron.

My first love wasn't Bai Jie, my ex-wife wasn't Wang Jing, and I don't have a girlfriend working as a flight attendant. No friends named A Bin, no doorman called Old Qin.

But I am the owner of this shabby little tavern behind me.

And, for reasons beyond understanding, I've somehow crossed over from Blue Star… into the world of One Piece.

Hot-blooded adventure? Passion? My ass.

This was Sabaody Archipelago — a lawless zone where even a small-time pirate with a ten-thousand-berry bounty could crush him like a bug. For an ordinary man like Ron, safety was nonexistent.

If not for the Multiverse Tavern System, he'd have run long ago.

Then suddenly—

[Ding! Multiverse Tavern officially opening. System diagnostics in progress.]

"Finally." Ron exhaled deeply, relief washing over him — like that perfect, snug feeling when autumn underwear is tucked into autumn pants, and those into socks.

[Diagnostics complete.]

[Host meets startup requirements. System activating!]

[Ding! Tavern operational. Storage unlocked. Newbie Pack issued — open manually.]

[System will determine future guests from other worlds based on the first visitor's personality and strength. After five guests, the selection resets.]

Light engulfed the tavern, dazzling and radiant. When it faded—

[Ding! Tavern authentication complete.]

[Auto-stock privileges unlocked.]

[Dimensional barrier unlocked. Interdimensional guests may now enter the Pirate World!]

Creak…

Ron pushed the door open — and froze.

The once-dilapidated tavern was now spacious and gleaming, with polished floors, clean tables, and shining chairs. The bar shelves brimmed with exotic bottles.

"Wait a sec…" His eyes widened. "Is that—?"

Tiger Tonic Wine, All-Healing Brew, Niulan Mountain, Wuliangye, Moutai...

"Something feels off." He scratched his head. "System, open the Newbie Pack."

[Ding! Congratulations, Host — you've received: Physical Enhancement Serum, Combat Instincts and Skills of 'Sett', and one Random Staff Member!]

"???" Ron blinked in confusion. Sett? The Juggernaut? Don't tell me I can actually charge up punches now...

"Heh, guess that means I'll have a natural edge in future fights."

He opened the vial and drank. Instantly, a surge of energy burst through his veins, sweeping through every cell and bone. It wasn't painful — only empowering.

In moments, his soft body transformed into solid muscle. Every neck roll cracked like firecrackers. He felt like he could punch a Sea King to death with one swing.

"Not bad."

He turned toward the window, catching his reflection. His skin was fairer, his features sharper — still lazy-eyed, but now carrying a trace of heroic charm.

"In my old world, with this face? Two years of dance and rap lessons and I'd debut center stage."

"Summon staff."

A glowing blue magic circle appeared before him.

[Ding! Congratulations, Host — first staff summoned: Twin Maids, Rem & Ram.]

Ron blinked. "Good lord... did the system just bug out already?"

Data flashed through his mind:

Rem & Ram — from Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World.

Ram: Elder sister. Lost her horn protecting her twin, limited endurance. Gentle and considerate. Special interactions unlockable by Host.

Rem: Younger sister. Skilled in all housework. Note: compared to her sister, Rem is… better endowed.

"Rem, he seems to be our master~," said Ram softly.

"Must you say something so embarrassing, Sister?" replied Rem, cheeks flushed as the two leaned close together.

[Ding! All summoned staff are 100% loyal to Host.]

"Well, that's convenient." Ron smirked. "Name's Ron. From now on, you two are this tavern's waitresses."

He spent the next hour training them on daily operations. Just as he was wrapping up—

A commotion erupted outside.

Marine warships docked at the harbor. Armed soldiers poured into Area 13, rifles raised. Explosions thundered. Flames lit the night.

Fifteen minutes later, silence returned.

"Blackbeard and Ace, huh? That it?" Ron sighed, disappointed. "Lame."

He turned to go back inside — when a tired voice came from behind him.

"Weird… when did this tavern appear here? Hey, barkeep — got any strong West Blue liquor?"

Ron turned.

A man with a square jaw and wooden geta stood there, cigarette smoldering between his lips. His Marine coat, torn but still bearing the word Justice, hung loosely over a tan shirt.

Even standing still, he radiated the unmistakable aura of a simp.

Tokikake, Vice Admiral — codename: Tea Dolphin.

Ron smiled. "I've got something stronger. Want to try it, Tea Dolphin-san?"

Tokikake hesitated, then nodded. "...Sure."

He stepped inside.

[Ding! Guest entered. Scanning...]

[Scan complete. Guest personality: Simp. The next four interworld guests will share this trait.]

[Ding! When a guest confides in the Host and reaches a certain Confession Value, the Host may obtain one of their abilities.]

[Furthermore, any person emotionally tied to that guest will later appear in the tavern.]

[Note: Emotional bond must be strong for this effect to trigger.]

Ron: "???"
