Okay this might come off abit as biased, but I think most of the fic that has an anime background but uses Chinese names are 9 out of 10 times not worth reading. And I mean that in the first chapter, if you see a Chinese name, run😆.
Or if the mc have a very odd(sarcastic) name like Akira, Yami…etc. Then it is likely a blend story because, why would an author, who started the journey of writing a fanfic that needs good thinking, name his own main character the most generic, basic, overated names right? Either it means the author is lazy(which is not a good sign), or he's planning to upload the fic for a couple of chapters and drop it.
