Chapter 2 - Encountering a Demon II

At this moment, pink miasma filled the entire cave. Screams echoed constantly as five pairs of young men and women engaged in fierce sexual intercourse. Wei Yun, who had just arrived, lasted only two rounds.

The other four men, on the other hand, were already sluggish, their eyes sunken, their faces blue and black, and their bodies' energy completely drained. One of them trembled violently twice before becoming motionless. His yang essence was exhausted, bringing him death in pleasure!

Moments later, Wei Yun had climaxed three times, yet the girl remained full of energy. She sat astride his waist, moving her delicate body rapidly. The motion caused the lavender crescent moon jade pendant around Wei Yun's neck to shake.

It was a crescent-shaped lavender jade pendant the size of a thumb, and his adoptive parents had found it with him when they discovered and adopted him. A gentleman never parts with such an heirloom without reason. It was the only possession Wei Yun had worn since childhood.

After three climaxes, Wei Yun's mind had cleared considerably. His eyes brightened as panic seized him. At the brothels he frequented, Wei Yun's prowess was legendary. His friends couldn't match him, and every courtesan praised his skills. But now, facing this stunning girl, he could not resist. He'd climaxed repeatedly, yet she remained energetic, demanding more. How could this be possible?

Wei Yun tried to struggle, but the girl astride him had reversed their positions. She wouldn't let him rise. Instead, she accelerated her movements, forcing involuntary cries from his lips. Strangest of all was her strength, which had become impossibly more powerful. Even using all his might, Wei Yun couldn't budge her!

"You, you..." Wei Yun stammered. Suddenly, he realised the movement around him had quietened. When he looked around, he saw his friends lying motionless on the ground, though the girls atop their bodies remained snow-white, naked forms.

One young man was dead. The girl on his body smiled seductively and rushed towards Wei Yun, who still had energy. A pair of pink legs stepped on either side of Wei Yun's head as she moved to lower herself onto his face. At the same time, a small jade-white hand pressed against Wei Yun's chest, directly upon the purple moon jade pendant.

In that moment, the purple moon jade pendant on Wei Yun's chest began to glow with a faint purple light. As this light appeared, an invisible force radiated outwards from him!

The girl on Wei Yun's body suddenly screamed. A puff of green smoke rose from his palm as she bounced away from him. While still in the air, her body transformed instantaneously.

The snow-white, naked young girl became a furry fox, white all over. The fox landed on the ground, its pair of seductive eyes brimming with intelligence, staring at the jade pendant on Wei Yun's chest in stunned silence.

The other maidens also transformed into foxes, one after another—some pale grey, some pale yellow, and some fiery red. None of them were human!

"Eee!" The five fox spirits shrieked, bent their legs, and ran out of the cave, vanishing in the blink of an eye. Wei Yun shook his head. Only then did he have the strength to stand and quickly dress himself.

The other teenagers woke one by one, though one remained motionless. Seeing their own haggard state and that of their friends, they were shocked. They had arrived full of vigour, but now their faces were ashen and exhausted, clearly drained by overindulgence.

Wei Yun recounted what had just happened. "We were all bewitched by fox spirits. Are you all right?"

"I'm... I'm fine."

One young man touched his dark circles, then glanced beside him and cried out in shock, "Brother He!"

The others looked over, only to realise that he was unconscious and not breathing. No matter what they tried, he wouldn't wake.

Horrified and terrified, the young men worked together to carry their dead friend out of the cave and place him on horseback. Each found his own horse before fleeing the mountains and heading towards the city.

They returned to their homes and didn't dare venture out for half a month.

After Wei Yun returned, he briefly told his father, Wei Xiao, about the encounter in the mountains.

Wei Xiao's expression grew solemn. He told his son to stay at home and not go anywhere, then left without another word. Half a day later, he returned with a group of Taoists.

The Wei family is one of the wealthiest households in Fengwucheng. For generations, they have built their fortune through trade. The current family head, Wei Xiao, is worldly and well-connected, with a reputation for hospitality. In recent years, his business ventures have been highly successful. Every deal is profitable, every investment sound.

Strange incidents had been occurring in the city with increasing frequency. The eldest son of the Zhang family was killed in the middle of the night, with his body having withered and desiccated, dying in a wretched state. It was said that ghosts and spirits had drained his essence and blood. The Zhao family's daughter suffered a similar fate. The young woman, once beautiful as a flower, went mad overnight, as though she too had encountered something evil.

After Wei Yun's encounter with the fox spirit, Wei Xiao felt the matter could not be delayed any longer.

He hurriedly invited the Taoist priests of Xuanhu Temple to perform a ritual to exorcise evil spirits and place protective charms on their home to ward off misfortune.

Xuanhu Temple lay twenty miles from Fengwu City. Its master, Taoist Master Qingfeng, was said to possess profound spiritual cultivation. He was proficient in physiognomy, Qihuang medical arts, and demon subduing. Securing his services was no easy task. Fortunately, the Wei family had worshipped at Buddhist and Taoist temples for many years, regularly sending offerings to Xuanhu Temple. Wei Xiao maintained close contact with Taoist Master Qingfeng. When the Wei family extended their invitation, Taoist Master Qingfeng accepted readily.

The Wei family's piety came from Wei Yun.

It was no secret that Wei Yun, as the only son of the Wei family, was not the biological child of Wei Xiao and his wife. At that time, Wei Xiao and his wife were nearly fifty years old and still childless. Wei Xiao had taken several concubines, yet still there was no heir.

But one winter evening, Wei Xiao's wife, You, heard a baby crying outside the door. When she opened it, she found a plump, fair-skinned infant wrapped in cotton-padded clothes lying on the doorstep. Seeing no one around, You asked the neighbours, but nobody knew who had abandoned the child. After discussing it with Wei Xiao, they adopted the baby and named him "Wei Yun" to continue the Wei family line.

In the blink of an eye, Wei Yun reached sixteen. Raised in a family of abundant food and comfort, he had never wanted for anything. Wei Yun was deeply filial to his parents, showing no signs of being anything but their true son. He had a straightforward personality and had been energetic and active since childhood, preferring martial training with weapons to words and business.

As their son grew, Wei Xiao and his wife rejoiced, believing him a gift from heaven. They often visited Xuanhu Temple to burn incense and worship in gratitude, sending generous donations without hesitation. Wei Yun accompanied them each time, and over the years, he earned the appreciation of Taoist Master Qingfeng himself.

Taoist Master Qingfeng spent a full day performing the ritual for the Wei family. When it was complete, Wei Xiao felt relieved.

As he prepared to leave, Taoist Master Qingfeng pointed at Wei Yun and said to Wei Xiao, "I see in your son's face that heaven is round, earth is open, the three stops are even, and the middle mountain is straight. His eyebrows are particularly remarkable, and there is an extraordinary energy about him. If properly cultivated, he will surely achieve great things!"

Wei Xiao had no reason to doubt Taoist Master Qingfeng's words. The Taoist's skills in physiognomy were notoriously accurate. An idea formed in Wei Xiao's mind: he would send Wei Yun to Xuanhu Temple to study under Taoist Qingfeng and learn his skills!
