Lilly and Syba decided to give Seven the next few weeks off of their training while they decided on her teacher. Seven wanted to keep training, but she was told that she shouldn't without Lilly or Syba's supervision. Naturally Seven would ignore their warning to keep training as she found enjoyment it the act.
Seven started to circulate the mana with in her self in order to channel it into a spell. Right as she was about to cast it something went wrong. She felt the mana drain, but nothing happened. Seven was confused. She had cast spells before creating little lights of darkness, ice, and the astral, but now nothing happened. Was it because she was channeling the mana differently? Seven didn't know.
She tried again this time trying to summon the little lights that she was capable of doing before hand, and they came. Seven looked on in confusion. Why was she able to cast the lights, but nothing else? It didn't make sense to her.
"You need to visualize what you wan the spell to do. The "little lights" you summon aren't a spell. They are a visual representation of your mana affinity's." The voice of the Wendigo sounded out in Sevens mind.
"What do you mean visualize?" This was a new word to Seven. She didn't know what that word meant.
"Close your eyes and focus on an idea. Good, now move your mana according to the "little lights". Nope, you need to move your mana more to the left." The Wendigo was giving Seven instructions how to make mana constructs. They are a simple way of training ones mana control and strength. The more weight one could have their construct carry, the stronger ones mana. And vice versa, the less the construct could carry the weaker ones mana.
The Wendigo could sense Sevens desire to cast a spell, so he helped her in learning how to create a construct. They were starting at constructs due to them sharing the same principles as casting a spell, and they didn't explode when Seven inevitably missed a step.
Just as the construct was about to be summoned. All the mana in Sevens hand dissipated. It flowed in to her room and became part of the natural environment. Seven then started to tear up. She didn't know what she did wrong and it frustrated her.
"Hmm, you didn't visualize the creature you wanted to create. The mana not knowing what form to take dissolved into the environment." The Wendigo explained.
"The dumb mana should know what shape I want it to take. I shouldn't have to tell it what to do. It should do as i say." Seven said as she was pouting. She was frustrated, everything came easily for her. And now that she's struggling she didn't know how to handle it.
"You want an authority? No, you don't understand something in the process." The Wendigo started to think over Sevens mana control and usage. After thinking for a short time he understood what Sevens issue was. She never used her other mana channels.
There's several mana channels throughout the body. And Seven actually had more of them then your average enlightened. Seven was still using the mana channels from when she was a human. She needed to use the mana channels for her Chimeric body rather than for her Human one.
"You need to use the mana channels from your new body. Rather than the ones from your old body. How you even kept them is beyond me, but that's not for me to figure out. Now then you need to these mana lines." The Wendigo highlighted the mana lines corresponding to the race they came from, black for the Wendigo, white for the Phoenix, and gold for the Dragon.
"You need to use the black mana lines since you are using your darkness mana." The Wendigo explained.
Using the mana lines just like the Wendigo explained Seven was able to create a mana construct. It looked like a form of golem, its arms reached its shins and torso was twice the length it should have been. It had six fingers and toes, its face was elongated and featureless. It was a crude thing, but it would work for now.
"There you go. You've created your first mana construct. Now then, focus on a creature that you like or calls to you and create a construct biased on that." This went on for a couple of days. The Wendigo would give Seven tips on how to improve her creations, and Seven would improve her construct. Eventually Seven was able to create a Raven made completely out of mana.
"Excellent, now put all the mana you can into creating the little Raven. Try to give it a way to interact with the world." Seven did as instructed. She started to put as much mana into the construct as she could, but something went wrong.
Seven's room went black. So black that she couldn't see her own hands. Then, just as quick as the blackness came, it went. And in its place was a Raven made of pure darkness. The little Ravens eyes opened then, only to reveal two ruby red eyes.
As the Wendigo looked through Sevens eyes he was shocked. Seven just accidently cast a summoning spell rather than create a construct. He didn't know how that was possible.
"What should we call you?" Seven thought that she created the construct that she wanted to create.
"How, how did you summon the Raven?" The Wendigo asked, as he was genuinely shocked at what Seven had accomplished.
"Summon?" Seven tilted her head slightly as she asked.
"Yes, you summoned the little Raven rather than creating it. Usually you would need a summoning circle and mana crystal, but you just summoned a mana beast without either of these aspects." The Wendigo continued to ramble on about how this didn't make any sense until he remembered something. Seven was part Phoenix, and Phoenixes were known for their powerful summoning magics, just as well as, they were for their ability to resurrect them selves.
"Hmm, Kuro, that's what well call you." Just as the Wendigo came to the realization. Seven already named the Raven sealing the contract, and binding the Raven, now named Kuro, to herself.
'I guess it's not a bad thing.' The Wendigo thought.
The Raven looked at Seven. Confusion evident in its eyes. It understood that it just made a contract, but it also knew that Seven didn't have a name. As Seven and Kuro stared at each other Kuro spoke.
"Rin." Kuro didn't speak normally. Instead it used telepathy. A form of communication that was supposed to only be used by powerful mana beasts and high tear monsters.
Seven looked at Kuro confused. It sounded like the little Raven just named Seven, but that couldn't be right.
Just then Seven had a flashback. She was back in the body of herself when she was born, and yet she couldn't move. Panic started to invade her mind when a soft melodic voice spoke a single word.
"Rin." The woman had no facial features. Her hair was the colour of roses. Just as fast as the memory came it went. And Seven, or Rin rather, started to cry. She didn't know why, but she did.
Kuro looked at Rin and was confused. It thought that that it was doing a good thing. Only for Rin to start crying. It didn't know what it did to cause destress in its master. It then started to jump around and caw at Rin in an attempt to comfort her.
"Calm yourself little bird. We just remembered something long forgotten." Three voices came from Rin all at the same time. All three diffrent and yet the same. Kuro didn't know what to make of the situation. First Rin started to cry, and now three voices that weren't Rin's came out of Rin's mouth. Kuro didn't know why, but he trusted the voices coming out of Rin's mouth.
Not long after Rin started to calm down. She looked down at Kuro and uttered one word before she fell unconscious.
"Thanks."
