Chapter 47 - CHAPTER 52

"This magic is too ingenious—I can't break your seals for now."

Gilgamesh stood up, speaking casually, yet those light words plunged his two brothers into utter despair.

This was truly "sitting at home when disaster falls from the sky."

Teleported to a deserted island, divine powers sealed, and forced to live alongside this bastard Gilgamesh—it was pure torture.

"Then take us off this island!"

Loki thought for a moment before offering a compromise.

Life here was far too primitive. With no tools at all, even cracking open a coconut required smashing it with rocks. Loki couldn't stand living like this anymore.

Gilgamesh nodded. They were still his brothers; useless as they were, he couldn't just leave them to fend for themselves. And since they'd reset the next day anyway, helping them was no big deal. Worst case, they simply wouldn't show up on the island tomorrow.

With that thought, he placed his hands on their shoulders, activated his cosmos, and teleported them straight to New York.

In a secluded alley in Queens, three figures abruptly appeared. Seeing familiar skyscrapers again, Thor and Loki couldn't help but smile in relief.

But before they could say a word, their bodies suddenly began to turn translucent—fading rapidly, as though becoming invisibly invisible.

Gilgamesh's expression changed. He reached out to grab them, but his hands passed straight through.

A heartbeat later, both brothers vanished completely.

He instantly knew whose handiwork this was.

"That bald monk deserves to die!!"

Gilgamesh cursed furiously, though there was nothing he could do about it.

Fortunately, he was never one to sit around waiting for fate to crush him. If he could break through to the Amara Consciousness, then even with the Time Stone, the Ancient One would be forced to kneel and obediently lick his toes.

"My foolish brothers, forgive me. You'll just reset again tomorrow anyway—enjoy your wilderness life."

Thinking this, he decided not to waste time saving them. They wouldn't die, and he'd rather use the hours to cultivate his Amara Consciousness.

So he found a quiet spot and began meditating.

But the next day, when the salty sea breeze brushed against his face, Gilgamesh found himself back on the island. His reset point had changed—no longer the White House, but this lonely Pacific island.

"That old bald monk actually changed my respawn point?" he muttered irritably.

Up until now, he'd been completely toyed with by the Ancient One, forced to follow her script at every turn. As the God of Light, he had never suffered such humiliation.

Just as he was simmering with anger, Thor and Loki emerged from the jungle—each wearing a grass skirt and carrying two coconuts—chatting and laughing as if they'd adapted far too well.

Spotting Gilgamesh meditating on the beach, both brothers brightened and ran over.

"Hey, Gilgamesh! What happened yesterday? We got to New York, and suddenly we were back here again!"

"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?"

Already in a foul mood—and now being addressed by his younger brother using his first name again—Gilgamesh's face darkened.

But then something clicked.

"Wait—you remember yesterday? You weren't reset?"

"Reset? What reset?" Loki asked blankly.

With no choice, Gilgamesh briefly explained how he had been reset for twenty-six years.

Hearing that he'd been trapped by the Ancient One, reliving the same day for twenty-six straight years, both brothers shuddered, their scalps tingling.

That method was far too cruel.

Repeating a single day for twenty-six years—anyone without an unbreakable will would have long gone mad.

No, even suicide wouldn't be an escape… because the reset would erase even that.

Recalling the Ancient One's always gentle, smiling face, Loki felt a cold shiver crawl down his spine. That woman usually appeared so kind and quiet—but who would have thought she could be this ruthless?

He'd caused plenty of trouble around Kamar-Taj before; had he provoked this bald sorcerer any further, he might have ended up just like Kassadin.

"So what do you plan to do now?"

Now that they were stuck in the same predicament, Thor had no choice but to set aside their past quarrels. He looked at Loki with rare seriousness.

Because deep down, he understood one simple fact:

If Gilgamesh couldn't resolve this, the three of them would be trapped here forever.

"I can only escape this corridor of time by breaking through the Amara Consciousness," Gilgamesh replied.

"Then hurry up and break through! Get us out of here already!" Thor nudged his brother, anxiety written all over his face. He'd had enough of the weak human body, the constant hunger, and the daily struggle for survival.

Even Loki, standing nearby, couldn't help but look hopeful. He, too, had no desire to remain on this cursed island any longer.

Hearing their impatience, Gilgamesh shot them a glare.

"Idiots. You think breaking through the Amara Consciousness is that easy? I've been stuck here for twenty-six years. And you two can't even wait a few days?"

"You—!"

Thor was instantly enraged by the verbal barrage. He was just about to retort when Loki grabbed his arm.

"Don't be impulsive. You couldn't beat him before, and you definitely can't beat him now."

Thor jerked Loki's hand away, glaring.

"Whose side are you even on?"

"I'm telling you to calm down!" Loki snapped back, looking utterly defeated in his makeshift grass skirt. Thor was truly an idiot. Their only chance of escaping hinged on their eldest brother, and this fool wanted to pick a fight again.

Gilgamesh ignored them and sat cross-legged, returning to his meditation.

But the moment he entered his trance, a dull thumping echoed beside him. Irritated, he cracked open an eye—only to see his two brothers banging away uselessly, one with a rock, the other with a coconut.

"Aren't you two annoying? Can't you knock somewhere else?"

Thor immediately bristled. "Then why don't you go somewhere else to train?"

"I— You little brat, are you looking for a beating?"

Gilgamesh shot to his feet, stomping over with murderous intent. Loki, seeing the seriousness in his eyes, froze on the spot.

Thor realized too late what he'd triggered and turned to run—but Gilgamesh caught up in an instant, his flying kick sending Thor sprawling across the sand.

Of course, he had held back. With Thor's current mortal physique, an unrestrained kick would have killed him outright.

Still, even a restrained Gilgamesh had more than enough strength to "educate" him.

He pounced onto Thor like a collapsing mountain, raising his fist.

"Wait—think this through! If you hit me, I'll tell Mother you secretly beat me!" Thor blurted out desperately.

But this only made Gilgamesh even angrier.

"Oh? You've grown some guts, huh? Using Mother to threaten me now? You're always wasting time running around with your idiot friends, claiming you want to protect Earth?!"

Slap!

His hand struck Thor's cheek.

"Protecting peace, huh?"

Slap!

Another blow.

"Trying to be a hero, are you?"

Slap. Slap. Slap!

Several more followed in rapid succession, leaving Thor dazed, swollen, and speechless.
