Chapter 87 - Kaido’s Outrageous Guess

"Boy! If you've got the guts—block this!"

Dorry roared, unwilling to believe that humans had truly grown this strong.

Could a mere boy—barely out of his youth—really have defeated Mountainbeard and Cascadebeard, the veterans of their kind? Even old giants weren't something ordinary humans could ever match!

If this human named Sharn was lying, then the two captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates would fight him to their last breath.

But strangely, their giant comrades standing nearby did not deny his words.

Molly, who was of similar age to them and once sailed under the same flag in their prime, stood quietly behind Sharn. She, too, was a giant… yet her body was now that of a New Human.

Unbelievable.

Disgraceful!

What had become of the giants of the outside world? How could they possibly have joined the Marines?

The giant race had always worshiped battle, adventure, and freedom.

To enlist in the Navy — that was a betrayal of their entire creed.

Something terrible must have happened over these decades.

From the moment they were deceived into fighting each other on this island, the conspiracy had already begun.

The Five Elders' long plan—to keep the world's giants trapped in endless duels, day after day—had succeeded.

The great wars of Elbaf, the isolated sea-faring giants, the enlisted giant Marines—

All were proof of a single fact:

The Five Elders had accomplished what no army could — they had broken the will of the giants.

Once the most feared race in the world, the giants now lived as pawns, their strength divided.

Unless a new Giant Warrior Pirates were born, their glory would never return.

"You're strong," Sharn called out, his voice sharp as the wind. "But you've no idea how the seas have changed! The world is now filled with monsters!"

With a blur of motion, Sharn's hands snapped forward in rapid succession—

hundreds of strikes in a heartbeat.

Shockwaves collided with Dorry and Brogy's enormous sword auras, shattering them like glass.

The two giants—each over twenty meters tall, twice Molly's height—towered like moving mountains. The sheer pressure of their swings could split the landscape, yet the young captain met their blows head-on.

Their strength was terrifying.

But the era had moved on.

"Good boy!" Brogy bellowed between strikes, his laughter echoing through the jungle. "Now this… this is a fight worth remembering!"

It had been decades since he'd felt such exhilaration.

Sharn's power stunned them both. Though they had honed their skills over sixty years of endless duels, this human—barely a third their height—was overwhelming them with monstrous might.

A man with the power of a demon.

It wasn't just brute strength—Sharn's abilities were layered, complex, almost unnatural.

To them, it was as though they were fighting a living Devil Fruit.

In the instant Sharn released his power, the air itself trembled.

Even the battle-hardened giants were forced back.

His body was no longer that of a man—it was a threefold hybrid monster.

A mutated exoskeleton as hard as iron reinforced his frame.

The Azure Dragon Zoan form enhanced his regeneration and vitality to absurd levels.

The Paw-Paw Fruit granted blinding speed and explosive shockwaves.

On top of that, he had mastered Fishman Karate and the Six Powers, interwoven with the might of Three-Color Haki.

Sharn's raw attack power might not yet rival the world's top monsters, but to break through his defense?

That would take a god.

Even Dorry and Brogy, with their colossal strength, could not shatter the black-scaled armor that shielded his flesh.

"Unless they've eaten the Strength-Strength Fruit themselves," Sharn thought calmly, "they'll never break me."

CLANG!

Sharn caught Dorry's massive sword in one hand.

At the same moment, Brogy's axe came crashing down—only to be blocked by Kaido's single arm.

"What incredible Haki!" Dorry exclaimed, sensing the dense, steel-like Armament Haki flowing through Kaido.

Now they understood why Molly and Evil Wolf had joined this human crew.

These weren't ordinary men—they were monsters cloaked in human skin.

"If you step in," Sharn warned, glancing at Kaido, "then I'll have to use my full power."

He released a surge of air pressure, breaking the giants' twin sword waves, and flashed forward in an instant—appearing right before Dorry's forehead.

"Do you even realize," Sharn said with a smirk, "that this man's axe could split an island in half?"

Kaido grunted. "Tch. You just can't take a compliment, can you?"

"Do you think they can even scratch our defenses?" Sharn replied, flexing his claws.

Kaido's grin widened. "Of course not."

He laughed, dismissing his Haki and stepping back.

This wasn't his battle.

He understood now—Sharn wasn't fighting to kill. He was testing himself.

Years of constant dueling had honed Dorry and Brogy, but also trapped them.

Without true life-and-death battles, their Haki had stagnated.

They were relics of a bygone age, unaware of the world that had long since surpassed them.

Sharn, in contrast, was evolution incarnate—a being that combined the resilience of Big Mom, the regeneration of Kaido, and the brutality of Rocks.

If even these two couldn't defeat him, then who in the world could stand in his way?

Kaido watched silently.

Something in the air felt wrong—too coincidental.

The encounter in the West Blue prison…

The perfect timing on the Grand Line…

Now, these giant captains waiting on this exact island…

It all felt planned.

A chill ran down Kaido's spine.

"No way… could all this have been his plan from the start?"

His eyes widened.

"Is he… rebuilding the Giant Warrior Pirates?"

The idea was insane—

But so was Sharn.

If anyone could tame the giants, it was him.

The Marines had been trying to weaponize the giants for decades. If Sharn succeeded first, his crew's power would be unstoppable.

Kaido's mind spiraled deeper.

"From the day he appeared in the West Blue…

to our capture… to this island…

it's all connected."

Was it really chance?

He thought back to the boy he once met—clumsy, loud, almost naïve.

The same boy who had now surpassed him.

"If he's been hiding his true strength this whole time…" Kaido thought, swallowing hard,

"then maybe he was never pretending to grow stronger—he was only waiting."

Kaido clenched his fists.

"Rocks said something before he died…

something only Sharn could have understood."

He whispered to himself:

"Rocks… Sharn…"

The two names echoed like a curse.

Why had Sharn risen right after the God Valley Incident?

Why did his ambitions mirror Rocks D. Xebec's so precisely?

"Could it be… that Sharn and Rocks were connected?"

"Or worse… that Sharn is Rocks' legacy?"

The more he thought, the colder he felt.

Everything about Sharn—his intellect, his ambition, his bloodline—was too suspicious.

No one else could grow this fast.

"No…" Kaido muttered, trembling. "It's too perfect."

"Go cool off in the sea!"

Sharn's voice thundered as he struck Dorry square in the forehead.

BOOM!

The giant captain flew backward, crashing into the ocean with a shockwave that sent water soaring into the sky.

"Dorry!" Brogy roared.

Fury consumed him—how could a giant captain fall to a mere human's strike?!

"Then come next!"

Sharn leaped, his palm glowing with the combined light of flame and lightning.

He brought it down toward Brogy's chest—

a blow that made the heavens tremble.

Kaido watched it all unfold, his thoughts spiraling out of control.

"He's not human… he's not even Sharn anymore…"

Then it hit him.

A single, terrifying thought.

"What if Sharn isn't Sharn at all?"

"What if… he's Rocks?"
