Chapter 11 - Spending Time with Feng Yu

At the edge of a crystal-clear pond, Feng Yu sat on top of a stone. Her right hand constantly twirled around inside the water as she truly enjoyed the chilly sensation of the water.

"It's relaxing, isn't it?" Yi Chen asked as he looked at the pond in front of him and the greenery that surrounded it. He had only seen this view in the memory of the body's previous owner. Now that he was seeing it for himself, it looked even more calming than he had expected.

Feng Yu was so engrossed in her act of playing with water that she didn't hear him at all.

Getting no response, Yi Chen turned to his left only to be left in awe for a moment.

Rays of the sun penetrated through the tree leaves on top of them and rested on Feng Yu's body. The sun patches playfully moved due to the wind, just the way her delicate hands were playing with the water.

Yi Chen couldn't help but feel that Feng Yu had become a part of nature at that very moment, and seeing this picturesque scene, a thought suddenly popped in his mind.

'Beautiful…'

However, the very next moment, he was reminded of what lay underneath her veil and shook that thought away.

'Am I really going to get married to her…' Yi Chen turned back towards the pond and thought to himself. Like every other man, he too wanted to marry a beautiful woman.

That feeling had only intensified when he entered this world. Wasn't this the world where jade beauties were more common than copper on earth? To think, despite this, fate had matched him with someone like her.

Sigh…

Yi Chen sighed deeply in helplessness.

"Is there something worrying you?" Feng Yu's soft voice entered his ears the very next moment, making him turn towards her. Seeing the concerned look in her eyes, Yi Chen couldn't help but feel a tinge of guilt in his heart, but saying the truth wasn't an option.

"It's just…I'm too weak right now," he made something up on the spot.

"Just that?" Feng Yu giggled when she heard this, "Haha, don't worry, you'll become one of the strongest in our town soon enough."

Hearing the confidence in her voice, Yi Chen couldn't help but ask, "What do you mean? Me? The strongest?"

"Yes, my father might look strong now, but in his youthful days he was even stronger and his name was even in the 'Thousand Stars List'," Feng Yu said as proudly.

"Thousand Stars List?" Yi Chen asked, as there was no mention of such a thing in his memory.

"Yes," Feng Yu explained in an understanding manner, "It's a list of a thousand rising martial artists in the White Jade Kingdom. Each and every individual in this list has accomplished awe-inspiring feats of bravery that number more than a hundred.

While most of the martial artists in that list belong to famous clans and the imperial family, there are also a few who, with no strong background at all, make a name for themselves.

My father was also one of them. Despite all the challenges, he stood strong and never faltered in front of the shady schemes of the powerful clans and families."

By the time Feng Yu had finished, there was a sense of pride in her eyes. It was clear that she respected her father greatly.

As for Yi Chen, his eyes glimmered when he heard her words, and the world he was in became clearer to him.

'Isn't this the typical Kingdom and Continent concept?!' Yi Chen thought to himself as he couldn't help but look forward to seeing how vast this world really was.

"How many Kingdoms and Continents are there?" Unable to control himself, Yi Chen ended up asking.

"This…" Feng Yu furrowed her brows a little to think and answered, "There are several small kingdoms in our continent. However, only seven of them are truly respected by all and are considered as a Great kingdom in a true sense…

…our White Jade Kingdom is also one of the Seven Great Kingdoms. We are all a part of the Light Continent…"

Feng Yu patiently explained. She knew that Yi Chen did not get any formal education as a child, so she explained these basic things in great detail.

"I see," Yi Chen nodded attentively as an excited feeling rose up within him.

Brrrrrr!

However, the very next moment, his stomach growled to showcase its anger.

"Haha…it seems that understanding all these things had put a toll on my stomach," Yi Chen said while clearly embarrassed.

"It's already time to eat, so that makes sense," Feng Yu lightly chuckled, and the two stood up from their spot and, a while later, comfortably sat on a cloth that was laid on the grass by their accompanying servant.

"Let's eat then," Feng Yu suggested, and the two of them enjoyed having their lunch together beside a beautiful pond as the cold, pleasant wind ruffled their hair.

After having their lunch, the two of them decided to roam around the pond side by side.

"So Chen'er, what are your likes and dislikes?" Feng Yu asked curiously.

"My likes…hmm, it would be playing video gam- I mean, it was playing with the kids when I was a child. As for now, I've been busy with my work, so there isn't anything that comes to mind…"

Feng Yu nodded in an understanding manner and continued listening.

"…As for the things that I dislike, there are a lot of them. However, the one thing that I dislike the most is…"

At that moment, Feng Yu's gaze sharpened as she made sure to note Yi Chen's each and every word in her mind.

"…not getting enough sleep," Yi Chen said while nodding seriously to himself, "My whole day gets ruined when I'm not well-slept,"

'This…' a wry smile formed on Feng Yu's face the next moment, and she couldn't help but burst out laughing.
