(Third Person POV)
"Lil.....D?" Denji said as he stared at the young woman in front of him, "What....?"
The young woman nodded, "Yes." She said, "I am the Death Devil....thus, the name Lil D...."
Denji was a bit confused by this, looking over at the young woman who was on the ground. He was sure that the individual before him was Fami, the Famine Devil, not the Death Devil. But she had told him that the one on the ground was Fami and she was the Death Devil.
He didn't know how to react to this one bit.
"Uhhh...." Denji said, completely perplexed, "I don't know..."
"Well, if you don't believe me..." Lil D said, "I don't know what to say."
"If you're the Death Devil, then that means that Yoru was looking for you, right?" Denji asked, "What's the deal with that? You were here all along!"
"That is right, my sister was looking for me." Lil D said, her neutral expression unsettling Denji, "But I doubt we have time for any of that right now. We have to keep moving, before she arrives."
"What?" Denji said, "Wait, hold up. I'm not going with you anywhere."
Lil D gestured to the side, "Do you think we have time for any of this?"
She was gesturing at the missing portion of the building they were in, in the distance, the ruins of the city was visible. Denji knew of this but he was still confused by all of this. He didn't know why the one he believed to be Fami was actually the Death Devil.
"Yea, I don't care." Denji said, "Some weird shit is going on and I don't-"
"You got to believe her dude!" a voice said, "It's her, alright!"
Denji looked to the side to see Sword-Man in his regular form standing at the entrance of the room they were in.
"It's....." He said, "Some dude I've seen before, I think."
"Lil D, there was some sort of weird dimensional rift in the distance!!" Sword-Man said, "I think War-Devil is summoning more Devils to fight Chainsawman!"
"Not just that, to get me too." Lil D said as she looked at Denji, "Denji, we have no time. With America dropping the nukes on the Soviet Union, the fear of war has increased, thus empowering Yoru further. She intends to have Chainsawman devour me, to erase the concept of death."
"What happens after that?" Denji asked
"Death no longer becomes a thing." Lil D said, "Nobody could die."
"Isn't that like....a good thing?" Denji asked, "Immortality????"
"Not in this case." She said, "Yoru would start a war. Humans and Devils, unable to die, they would be locked in a never-ending cycle of violence and hatred. Every second of every day, there would be nothing but bloodshed and violence. The more this happens, the more the fear of pointless War will grow. And she will grow stronger. That is the War-Devil's dream."
"Huh....." Denji said, "But.....how can.....what?"
"We have to go." Sword-Man said, "Now! She is bound to find you, Lil D!!"
Lil D pointed at Denji, "There is no time." She said, "You have to come with us. We'll think of a way to-"
She was cut off by the distortion of space, and the sound of a loud howling was heard. She looked to the side and saw as several grotesque beasts flying towards them, letting out a dark aura.
"Devils!" Sword-Man said as he ran in front of them, "We have to move!! Now!!"
"Interesting." Lil D said, "I don't recognize these. What sort of Fear do they represent?"
Suddenly, the grotesque Devils imploded, blood and guts flying everywhere as a powerful shockwave erupted, ripping apart more of the building. The shockwave also hit the nearby buildings and the ground, shattering everything around the area.
"Something....killed them?" Sword-Man said, "I felt that they were quite strong too...."
"Interesting...." Lil D said, "This is...."
Suddenly, they felt an overwhelmingly powerful pressure; the entire area was plunged into a massive shadow as a figure emerged from the falling river of blood that was caused by the Devils' deaths. The entire area was distorted, space itself seemed like it was bending, their entire bodies began to tremble violently in response. Even Fami was awoken by this, immediately shrieking in fear.
"Eeeek!!" She said as she looked up
Denji looked up at the figure that was floating in the air, "What the fuck...."
Lil D's body was also trembling, but she showed no other reaction, "What is this?"
In the air above them, a man was staring down at this with his blood-red eyes, the dragon slit was quite apparent. His entire body was shrouded by the shadow that was cast upon the area, caused by an unknown ability.
"A devil?" Sword-Man said as he immediately transformed, "You gotta be shitting me!!"
He launched himself into the air, swinging his swords at the man.
"Devil?" the Man said as he caught the sword with his two fingers, "Don't make me laugh."
Suddenly, Sword-Man was flung back to the building, causing a massive shockwave that nearly caused it to crumble.
"Whoa!!" Denji shouted as he looked up
Lil D narrowed her eyes, "What is this feeling?"
Suddenly, the Man was in front of her, and Denji, his black trenchcoat flapping in the wind caused by the shockwave. He was taller than all of them, with pitch-black hair and blood red eyes. Lil D was appalled by the shape of his pupils, which resembled that of a dragon.
"Interesting." Lil D said, "You must be.....the Dragon Devil."
"Dragon Devil??" Denji said, "What the fuck?"
The Man smirked slightly, "Devil?" He said, "Give me a break. I am not that weak."
"I can sense....that you have a draconic feel to you." Lil D said, "And you are powerful. I did not think that people feared Dragons that much....."
"Fear....huh?" the Man said as more grotesque devils appeared out of thin air, forming a massive barrier above them, "So that is what it's about, hm?"
"More of them?!" Denji exclaimed
"EEeekkk!!!" Fami shrieked
The man flicked his wrists and the Devils exploded yet again, guts and blood raining down on the building as he simply stared at Lil D.
"You...." He said, "You reek of Death. What are you?"
"I am Lil D." She said, "The Death Devil. And you say you aren't a Devil. So what are you?"
The Man gave her a smirk, "Me?" He said, "I am Drakken, the Dragon God of War and Death."
"G-God?" Denji said
Drakken then glanced at Denji, staring at his eyes, "You...." he said, "You have bottomless pit of power inside you, boy."
"E-eh?" Denji said, stepping back
Drakken then looked at Lil D, "And you. Death Devil." He said, "The concept of Death, I assume. The personification of the fear of Death. Interesting.....very interesting."
"Interesting? I'd say the same to you." Lil D said, "You claim you are a Dragon God? I have heard of no such thing."
Drakken looked around, "Hm." He said, "It's quite fucking obvious that I am not from here. I was flung here through a dimensional rift. A massive creature grabbed me with its grimy hands and threw me in here. You say that Devils are manifestations of fears? This one, I felt its power. Combined with the Soulway, it was able to keep me in place long enough to send me to this world. The creatures that are appearing have the same feeling as that thing."
Lil D blinked, "I see....."
"I can only deduce that the creature was a Devil." Drakken continued, "The Dimensional Devil. Perhaps.....the fear of Dimensional Threats. Quite the interesting world I've stumbled across. What's your deal, girl?"
"Girl?" Lil D said, "Well, I am not a girl. I am the Devil of Death. I...."
"Ah." Drakken smirked, "I can smell death on you. But you have no concrete power over it. Not yet, at least."
"I was just explaining to my associate here that the War-Devil is about to descend upon us." Lil D said, "She intends to erase me from existence, keeping people from dying."
"Hm." Drakken said
"It's not a wise thing to tell strangers that..." Denji muttered
"War....." Drakken said, "Death.....what irony. Two concepts I am quite familiar with. Lil D, huh? I'll tell you what, if the War-Devil descends upon you, I will deal with him."
"Her." Lil D corrected, "She's my sister."
"Her, whatever." Drakken turned around, "I'll kill her for you, just give me her corpse so I can absorb her power. I will then use it to rip apart that Devil that threw me in here."
"How can you be so sure you can kill her?" Denji asked, "She's pretty strong."
"You stupid little shit." Drakken scowled at him, "I am not some punk ass Devil or fragile human like you lot."
"I am War. I am Death. I am the End."
