Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Brother

At the Zittane Palace… A revelation is found, as the leaders of the District gather. King, Queen, and heir.

"My sister is alive???" a troubled looking man says on a rich dinner table.

"Yes son, i've received news that she is residing in the Terre Kingdom from one of our informants." The father speaks.

"Lando, retrieve your sister from the Terre Kingdom. And while you do that, make our statement to the king of Fels." The mother speaks.

"B-but…" He hesitates, then speaks once more. "Pardon me, yes father." Lando says.

Lando walks out the dinning room of the ice palace, frustrated. It isn't fair being treated the same because compared to his sister, Lando has been loyal to his family his entire life; however, Star has been all but good for the family.

"What a waste of space at this lovely palace." He tells himself.

He enters his room, a very royal looking room. Walking on his favorite carpet, looking out his favorite window, takes hold of his favorite object, his staff.

He named his staff Nyx, because while using it, he has never lost a duel. Nyx is one of the tier 1 sorcerers who created the Serpent Continent, a god. A tier 1 capable staff, fit for a tier 2 spellcaster of a royal family. The staff itself was black, cyan at the tip of the staff. There was a bit of a slither coming off the cyan which held an azure crystal.

Lando held it firmly, as he opens the window. He climbs it, then steps out to the city of Zittane. He begins to walk across the city outskirts until he only sees snow around.

"You'll be dead soon enough Star." He states.

In the Terre Kingdom*

"Y-Yo Everest, have you ever thought about your dream spouse?" Star asks.

"My dream spouse?"

Honestly, I thought about this like any other guy. But I must be careful with my words here because while talking to a girl anything you say feels like a negotiation… Which is what my father told me after he had an argument with my mother.

"Well, I guess I haven't ever thought about it." I respond.

"Of course, what a boring answer." She replies.

"Alright fine, I like a woman who can cook like my mother."

Star looked stunned by this. Her face was funny, as her sapphire eyes faded into black dots, her mouth wide open in shock.

I don't understand what I did to get that reaction, so I wonder what she is thinking right now.

"That's, just, adorable!!!" She screams in her mind.

"Couldn't hurt you to go a bit more in depth but okay." She says.

That was probably the most interesting conversation we had on the walk, camp, sleep, and repeat, for the two months before we reached Fels. And once the city got into view…

"There it is!" Star says.

"Wow what a huge castle."

The Fels District, in terms of the beauty, Fels is mainly described as bewitching, and pretty at the same time. The structure of Fels could be described as a hurricane from the upper view. On the outer layer of the district, are campsites, and huts; however, the beauty of it is that there is a small oasis island for every living quarter. There are walls formed like layers to separate the next area of Fels, which is called, Paradi Fels. This section contains large houses made of clay, concrete, and lignite, and you must not forget the huge castle at the eye of the hurricane. The inner area is given the name, Auge.

"I don't really understand… why did the people I heard at Salzico talk so low of this place?" I ask to myself aloud.

"Oh you'll see." Star replies.

As we walk by; however, there aren't many people in sight. The few residents we see aren't human, but beast-creatures. We approach the borders and see a Deerman "greeting" us.

"Hey there, you two-, umm, uh, i'll let you both just pass on by." The Deerman says.

That's odd, I thought there was a large fee to enter.

"Why is that?" I ask.

"Well, the girl over there, she's royalty so our district welcomes her with open arms sir. I don't know who you are, but if you're her guard, or something of the sort go on in." Says he.

"Well then, thank you for letting us in." I speak.

Once we entered the district I realize its scope. Inside the circular borders, are four quadrants, and in these four quadrants are different elements of the district. The bottom-left is the main venue for artisans, businesses, and tourist attractions. The bottom-right area is the housing complexes, and strong rock buildings. Top-left for the royal palace, and top-right for agricultural investments, and industries.

"Woah so many different races here. I see beast-people, dwarfs, elven-people, and a few humans."

We entered through the left side, so we see the vendor area first.

"Well, would you like to do some shopping Star?" I ask her.

"No." She says.

"No...?" I respond.

I didn't realize it as I was saying it, but the look on her face was of intense caution. Something was wrong.

"Are you hungry?" I say with a dumb look on my face, as well as of course, a dumb thing to say in that situation.

"NO!! CAN'T YOU SEE THE LOOK ON MY FACE?" Star yells at me, with a little annoyance and embarrassment, as I receive a strong smack across my face.

"Okay! I'm sorry! I was hungry so I thought you may have been too…" Did that improvisation even work?

"I'm hung up on earlier you see… I don't think that guy in the front gate would recognize me."

"Well, you ARE royalty."

"That's true, but there has to be something more to this." She says.

At that very moment we hear a gnome yelling with a megaphone by his mouth.

"Everybody, make way for the heir to the Mizu Kingdom throne, Lando!" He yells.

Lando sits on a throne on top of a parade bus. His cold smile was apparent to Star and I. I don't know why, but I feel like I understand something more about Star when I see this man. My mother, and especially my father, have connections that would let them know of the world's changes, so I do know Lando is 3 years older than me. Why can I tell more about Star when I see him? Well, her face says it all.

Stars look was that of a small rabbit cornered by a fox.

"Let's get out of the street quickly." She says, as she pulls her hood up from her tunic.

"Alright." I respond firmly, trying to assure her with a more serious voice.

We quickly vanish from the crowd, and head for a clothes shop.

However, someone did see our attempt at escape.

Lando watches the pair move through the crowd. "Sister… You're not safe from me. Not for much longer." He whispers to himself.

Star and I enter the store, and go looking for clothes quickly, my clothes are kinda torn because of the quests in Salzico. Fighting, Scopeys (Scorpion-Donkeys).

I find myself a nicely knitted blue robe, with brown strings to tighten the fabric to my body. I also buy a new pair of pants, and boots. Star likes her clothing, but she bought spare pants, and a pure white robe, with a hood.

The clothes were nice; from a tailor whose main store resided in the Mizu Kingdom. His brand was "SOAR."

After Lando passed by the streets, I found a hotel which I booked for 3 days, and 2 nights. I looked with Star for a magic book, yet I still had no luck. The vendors here weren't as nice as the ones in Salzico and definitely had prices that were way higher than there as well.

We spent the first day in the hotel and went to bed early to have energy the next day.

The second day was spent outside looking around the district for my spell book and getting goods for the next step of the journey.

Going out with Star has actually been pretty fun… It's not like I never thought i'd say that, but i've had a blast getting to know her better. On the other hand, I really can't tell how she's been feeling hanging around me.

I see her picking out a burger, and an apple pastry with walnuts, and raisins. I wonder how her brain works. I shouldn't be focusing so much on that though; I mean it's a perfectly normal thing to do in a market… I am overthinking this way too much, but-

"Hey! You there?" Star snaps me out of my inner rant about her brain while picking out food.

"Oh, i'm sorry I was thinking… about, something."

"That's very informative." She says with a cheeky smile on her face.

I felt my heart give out two quick jolts. What was that?

"Want some of my apple pastry? Not more than two nibbles though!" She speaks.

"I'll take one bite" I say to her in return.

"TWO NIBBLES MAX!" She speaks with a bit of a giggle.

During the afternoon, we found ourselves outside the walls looking at the scenery. The oasis huts were nice, but I noticed they were falling apart. Holes through the walls of the stick huts, and piranats (piranha/rat) circling the water surrounding the house.

Star and I help some citizens with their problems, and they really appreciated that.

Though one house had a bit of a bigger moat. And a huge, golden colored piranat jumps out.

"THAT'S THE GOLDEN KARP OF LEGEND!" A tortoise man shouts.

"A what now!?" I ask.

"It is the sacred protector of the Fels District, if you anger the beast, it shall kill you." He speaks.

The golden piranat doesn't seem hostile towards us as of now. But it had a stare that sends daggers through your soul.

"WHY YOU TROUBLE ME?" It says to us.

He wasn't yelling, his voice was just extraordinarily strong.

"We're sorry to bother you, we were helping the people live without other piranats attacking them just outside their home."

Star looks at me in shock, as if telling him the truth was not the best gamble.

"I SEE. MY CHILDREN HAVE ONLY RECENTLY TURNED 2 MONTHS; THEY CAUSE WAY TOO MUCH TROUBLE." The giant piranat says.

"See it wasn't so bad." I tell Star.

"…right." She says unenthusiastically, and a bit bewildered.

"THANK YOU, HUMAN, FOR YOUR EYES AND MINE HAVE INTERTWINED. STATE ME OF YOUR WISH, AND IT SHALL BE DONE." He speaks.

"Star… do you want anything?"

"You're the one that got the wish so you should ask for something you want." She says.

"Well, then I want to know about the six dragons." I ask.

"SIX… WELL THEN IT SHALL BE DONE."

The giant piranat's eyes start to glow bright red.

"HEAR MY WORD YOUNG HUMAN, THE LOCATION OF THE SIX DRAGON IS IN KAMINO."

"Isn't that where you're from?" Asks Star.

"Yeah, it is, but i've never heard much of dragons there. Kamino is a big farming area how could a dragon reside there…"

"YOUR WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED. IF YOU SEEK ANOTHER WISH, I WILL BE WAITING IN THE FROZEN POND." The giant piranat swims down into the depths of the oasis, but there wasn't anything below there.

"The frozen pond is in the Mizu Kingdom! If you want to get another wish we would have to go, there." Star answers without me having to think about it.

"Yeah, I really need some answers. But you should probably make the next wish Star." I speak.

"Alright, deal." She replies.

The tortoise man seemed to pass out from the shock, but since its legendary beast is in Mizu… Maybe he'll be there too?

It's dusk time, so we head back to the hotel.

At night, Iris tells me he wants to go back to Salzico because he senses his kind may still be alive.

I let Iris know we would be at Fels for 2 more days, and I'll extend the time for our hotel in the morning.

On the third day, we received a lucky invitation from the King of Fels. We were welcomed to his castle, and we would be granted one wish from the district. I was the 100,000th visitor, and somehow that was rewarded. So, I went to the castle.

Star didn't want to go, so she just followed me closely and snuck through the outside walls of the castle, monitoring my progress inward. The castle had many oddly shaped windows, so at least she could see me. But why was she doing this?

Earlier that day…

I head down to the lobby of the hotel building, which was kinda shaped like a castle inn, I ask the clerk to extend our stay, and he gives me a letter.

"There's no way it can be a coincidence that my brother is here, you get invited to the castle, and more importantly, MY BROTHER IS HERE!" She says to me with a worried expression.

"I'm sure he won't care who I am, and if you're worrying that much, just hang around the outside of the castle. If anything goes wrong, i'll give you a signal." I tell her.

"Fine, because I am a great mage who can get by the guards of the castle anyways, I will do so." She lets me know with suave in her voice.

"Thanks for caring so much about me Star, honestly." I speak.

"Don't make this a favor for a favor thing. Unless you want to buy me some of that expensive milk you drink." She says.

"Never in my dream would I share a bottle of Camelramel milk." I say.

Once in the castle, otherwise known as the Fels Royal Palace, I meet the king of Fels who asks me for a wish he could grant on behalf of the Fels district power.

Wow, so it wasn't a scam. I think to myself, because my life is fine right now, maybe I could ask for easy transportation to the Mizu Kingdom? a good amount of money would be nice.

"Can I get some money? I know it's a greedy question… But i'm a traveler, and i'm headed to the Mizu Kingdom with my friend, Star- "

I couldn't finish my sentence because at that moment a man started choking me from behind.

If I don't recover quickly, he could choke me out in 2 seconds.

I grab his arm with one of my hands, and use the other to grab my staff, and hit the man with the bottom end of the stick.

The man loosens his grip on the choke, as I turn, and push him.

The man I saw, had a royal blue vest, with black trousers, and stunningly shining footwear in the Terre Kingdom. His hair was blonde, a smug, but bothered look on his face. His aura was intense. The man was Stars brother, Lando.
