I tried opening my eyes but they felt so heavy, I almost felt like going to sleep again, my body didn't want to respond to me, and everything felt so heavy

No amount of sleepiness could stop the feelings I felt from that moment, my eyes opened so fast the light from the window hurt my eyes for a good while till my eyes finally adjusted and I saw my mom sitting next to my bed

My words were stuck in my throat, my voice sounds different as if I hadn't hit puberty, but my mom can't be alive, she died 5 years ago, but her face and eyes, her hands look real

The awakening portal day was a way for people to learn their talents earlier than usual, not everyone could awaken their talent in the portal but you had a higher chance

When I tried to stand, I felt very sluggish, after just stepping 4 feet, I felt like I had run a marothon
I fought through the sleepyness and got to the table and started eating, i dint have the heart to tell my mom that she shouldnt had gotten this because i wont be getting a talent, my mom never got a talent, my dad did, but after my mom had me and my dad learned that she didnt get a talent, he divorced her and left

Tony was the guy who lived next door, him, his wife and daughter, tony had tier 2 strength boosting talent, he was never the nicest person, but his wife and daughter wer pure completely, betty didnt get talent like me, his wife has a tier 2 ice talent, I tried getting close to betty, just to be friends maybe something more but she never liked me and thought inwas weird for always trying to be so diligent
Tony came and told my mom that he would just bring me since Betty and I went to the same high school, when we got to the school, it was still impossible for me to wake up

The old trick of trying trick a kid to be brave and manly by calling him a princess, well i feel so tired that im fine with this

I looked over to Betty and saw her looking at her hands, she didnt get anything again, her father looked at her, and she looked up at him with tears in her eyes
