"Director Mark,how's my Dad?" Maxwell Kant was in the hospital where his Father has been bedridden for a few years due to pheromone cancer.
"Mr Kant,he's still in a coma but he's out of danger.The condition is not very optimistic.Although the cancer cells haven't spread yet but the location of the tumor is special.If we remove the tumor,it would damage the gland.For Alphas the survival of a gland damage is zero so we dare not operate rashly.Its the best result we can achieve by maintaining this situation given we don't have medications" The doctor explained.
Although Max doesn't get along well with his cheat of a father for what he did to his mother,he wouldn't want him to die.He heard KB group a pharmaceutical company like his own Kant holdings pharmaceutical is developing the drug that could cure his father's illness.Both companies were competitors and worst of all Max had a sour relationship with the KB group's ceo,Peem Ronald.Though they were terminal enemies Maxwell had no other choice but to turn to Peem for help .He knows it can't be for free he needed to have a bargaining chip to win Peem's favour. So he set out with his Secretary Edwin Nicolas to Peem's company.Though they were late for that appointment.
On getting there they were met by a handsome young man before they got close to the reception.
"Hello,Mr Kant.I'm Mr Ronald's personal secretary,Fadel Jackson.Welcome to KB group" Fadel greeted.He handed his business card to Maxwell and as expected Max in all his arrogance will never take it from him.He shot his secretary a sideways glance.
"Nice to meet you,Secretary Jackson" Edwin quickly replied. "I'm Edwin Nicolas,Mr Kant's secretary" he paused. "We came so late.Thank you for working overtime Secretary Jackson"
Fadel smiled broadly showing his dazzling dimples,he was quite a beauty. "Mr Ronald just finished his last meeting,please come in" he led them towards Peem's office.
As they walked Edwin commented "All lights are still on at this hour,its so late already.Your company deserves its reputation"
"Mr Ronald always leads by example,of course his surbodinates dare not slack off" Fadel replied his captivating smile still on his lips as they got to the door of the office. "Please come in" he ushered them in.
Fadel's smiles disappeared as he saw Ricky Brown and his boss in a compromising position,that spoiled his mood.He cleared his throat and the people quickly adjusted.
Peem stood up and so did Ricky
"Mr Kant is here" Peem smirked. "Come in, you are welcome"
And there was Ricky Brown the ceo of the most powerful Holding in C country who flew over from his country to P country for love.There he was looking so innocent and soft like he was being humiliated and was going to brake down if pressed further.None of his cold and wicked atmosphere was present as he stared at the love of his life,Maxwell,the only reason he was willing to take a long leave from work just to win his heart over to himself.
Maxwell saw Ricky and recalled meeting him when he went to the hospital earlier.Ricky had collided into Max without knowing it scattering all the medical reports papers Ricky was holding and also one of Maxwell's cufflinks fell unknown to him but Ricky picked it all up with his innocently contorted face then said
"I'm sorry"
That meeting at the hospital wasn't arranged, it was coincidental but every other moment and action after that was carefully planned and orchestrated by Ricky Brown including that very moment inside Peem's office. He had no choice ,that was the only way he could get close to Maxwell Kant.
"Why are you here?" Kant asked
"This is my new secretary Ricky Brown,Mr Kant,you know him?" Peem chipped in so the situation won't look awkward.
"Yes" Max replied. "I've always wanted to know Mr Ronald,if I knew he was your secretary I would have asked him for your contact instead of asking Pat for help"
Ricky looked down at his shoes obviously nervous.
Peem looked at Ricky. "Secretary Brown,you're really something.You know our famous Mr Kant,if you had written on your resume that you know Kant Pharmaceutical's Mr Maxwell Kant,KB group wouldn't make you just a mere assistant secretary"
M-Mr Ronald" Ricky stammered his face turning pale from immense fright. "Kant holdings is a competitor according to our contract,if anyone knows people from Kant holdings they must report in advance before they start their jobs.I really don't know Mr Kant.I didn't mean to hide it" his voice trembled.
"Yes.we don't really know each other"Maxwell agreed. "We just met at Knight hospital once.Secretary Brown didn't notice and bumped into me in the lobby"
Ricky feigned ignorance and surprise. "It was you? I'm sorry I didn't recognize you earlier.I'm sorry about that day" he said to Maxwell.He the turned to Peem." I went to the hospital to visit my sister and bumped into Mr Kant" He turned back to Max who was grinning mischievously and said. "I'm really sorry about that day"
"What's the use of saying sorry?" Peem stated and the slapped Ricky's waist. "Go and apologize properly to Mr Kant.
As Ricky was about to get closer to Maxwell.
"No need"Maxwell suddenly said. "Its not a big deal"
But Ricky nevertheless went ahead. "Mr Kant,My name is Ricky Brown and I'm really sorry about that day" He said and handed a card containing his contact information to Maxwell expectantly.
Maxwell's secretary Edwin stepped forward and collected it."I'll keep the business for Mr kant,Thanks" Ricky looked down disappointed,he had anticipated a physical contact with Maxwell. There was silence afterwards
Then Fadel who had recovered from his initial shock broke the silence"Mr Ronald and Mr Kant are friends at first sight,I believe they have some matters to discuss,let Secretary Ricky and I take you to the lounge next door,Secretary Nicolas.Let's have tea while waiting for them"
Edwin nodded at his boss and said."Mr Kant,I'll be waiting outside"
Fadel then called Ricky who appeared to be in a daze."Secretary Brown,let's go" Ricky turned around and followed them out of the office unwillingly.
