Evelin's POV
Medical staff flooded into my room, and I watched Selina and Jaxson back away to make room for them.
After examining me thoroughly, the doctor declared I was stable and went over my injuries.
My throat was inflamed and covered in blisters from breathing in smoke, my right calf had a clean break, and cuts and scrapes covered various parts of my body. Complete healing would require an extended period.
Frankly, I'd braced myself for worse.
When the medical team cleared out, I looked at Jaxson and Selina. "What about Jimmy? How is he?"
'Did he visit while I was out? Was that actually his voice calling to me?' I wondered.
"He bled pretty heavily, and that gash on his back was nasty. But no critical damage. They already sent him home," Rex told me.
"What?" The news hit me like a punch. "Home already?"
The doctor had mentioned I'd been unconscious for some time.
