Evelin's POV
The words nearly made me choke on my own saliva.
I hastily reached for my lemonade, taking a quick gulp. "You're kidding, right, Mr. Hamilton?"
"I'm completely serious," Jimmy answered.
I fell quiet, my mind racing. 'This guy actually wants to cut off his hands after he dies and hand them over to me? What kind of twisted logic is that?'
People called Jimmy insane, and right now, I was getting a front-row seat to exactly why.
"Thanks, but no thanks," I said quickly. "I'd rather have hands that are still warm and attached to someone alive, not some creepy lab specimen."
"What a shame," he said. "I figured this might be the perfect way to show my appreciation for Mrs. Ford saving my life."
I was at a loss for words again. I definitely didn't share his sense of disappointment. "Look, Mr. Hamilton, I already told you—if you really want to thank me, just make a charitable donation."
