Evelin's POV
"What?" Rex's eyes went wide, staring at me like I'd just dropped a bomb. "Evelin, are you being serious right now?"
"That's what Jimmy Hamilton's investigation shows," I said, sliding the documents across to Rex.
Rex flipped through the report, his face growing paler by the second. If this really came from Jimmy Hamilton, there was no way it could be bogus.
The realization hit him like a sledgehammer. Thorne had only shown him some hospital compatibility report when she claimed she could save Alice.
And Rex—desperate to save Alice—had never bothered to double-check.
He'd been so focused on keeping Alice alive that he'd ignored Thorne's sketchy behavior and skipped doing his homework.
"Thorne." Rex's eyes blazed crimson as he locked onto her. "You've been lying to me this whole time?"
Thorne's face drained of all color—she never expected me to blow apart the perfect lie she'd been living.
She thought fooling Rex was all she needed to do.
