Jimmy's POV
In the end, I released Evelin's hand.
Dalton drove us to the hospital.
Evelin settled into the back seat, her gaze fixed on the scenery rushing past the window, but I couldn't stop watching her the entire ride.
She remained quiet, and so did I.
The car's atmosphere grew suffocating with our unspoken tension.
Dalton gripped the steering wheel nervously, his hands nearly trembling as he drove, still processing the conversation he'd just witnessed.
I could see the shock written across Dalton's face in the rearview mirror. He'd never seen me with anyone before, let alone witnessed a breakup. I knew he was probably wondering what would happen to me now.
I couldn't help but think about all the stories people told about the Hamilton family. Everyone claimed we were obsessive and unhinged. When we couldn't possess the person we loved, we'd completely lose our sanity.
