Evelin's POV
Guilt flickered across Margot's face. "I... I didn't do anything, Evelin! Stop making false accusations!"
Rage burned through my veins. Jimmy's consciousness was slowly returning, but his eyes stayed clenched shut, his face twisted in anguish. Sweat beaded across his forehead while his temples pulsed with prominent veins.
We'd been separated for just a short while, and now he was in this condition.
Just as Margot tried to push herself up from the ground, I lifted my foot and slammed it down hard between her shoulder blades, forcing her back onto the floor.
"Margot, I'm asking you one more time. What did you do to Jimmy? And what's that scent you're wearing?" I demanded.
She writhed beneath my weight, but with my foot pinning her down, she couldn't budge—as if I weighed a ton.
"Are you all just going to watch this? Pull Evelin off me right now!" Margot shouted at the household staff.
Not one servant moved.
