Evelin's POV
Allen swirled his glass before tossing back the contents. "Those were the days I miss most. My time in service - that was when I felt truly alive. Hell, if we could turn back time, I wouldn't care if you knocked me around daily."
Selina made a soft clicking sound with her tongue. Throughout Bonnie City, only I could make Allen admit he'd welcome that kind of treatment.
But I was with Jimmy now. I could see the pity for Allen in Selina's expression, though she'd never voice it.
"Evelin, there are times I just want to return to our service days," Allen muttered, refilling his glass. He raised it, gesturing for a toast.
I grabbed my own glass and clinked it against his.
Allen's smile turned sloppy with alcohol. "Really, if I could go back then, I swear I'd finally say that I..."
"Allen!" Selina's voice sliced through his words.
"Hmm?" I blinked, my thoughts clouded by the drinks. Whatever Allen had been about to say escaped me completely.
