Chapter 57 - Thomas Vs The Centipede King

 Thomas vs. the Centipede King

The battle raged in the fallen city.

Thomas and Luke moved like twin blades slicing, dodging, striking. The demon centipede was fast, precise, and furious. But their training was better. They danced through its attacks, leaving it shrieking in rage.

Then it lunged.

Luke vaulted skyward with his blade, but the centipede whipped its body mid-air, slamming him to the ground.

 "Luke!" Thomas shouted, charging forward.

He weaved through the demon's coils, inching toward its head. Then he leapt. The sun behind him cast a blinding halo. The centipede looked up

And Thomas came down like judgment.

 Slice.

The demon split in two.

Thomas landed, breathing hard. "You alright?"

Luke dusted himself off. "Just a scratch."

Thomas grinned. "Good. I bet there's more out there."

Then the ground trembled.

A quake. A roar. And from the earth burst a colossal centipede dwarfing the last one. Its scream nearly knocked them off their feet.

Thomas stepped forward.

"Luke cover me."

Luke nodded, positioning himself with bow drawn.

The centipede roared again, but Thomas didn't flinch.

"Alright, pal," he whispered. "I'm gonna need you."

A voice echoed in his mind.

 "Leave it to me."

Thomas ignited.

His white platinum aura flared light piercing the shadows. The centipede reeled, blinded by brilliance.

Thomas launched forward, fist-first. The blow cracked the demon's skull, bending its spine. He spun for a kick, but the centipede coiled to counter. Thomas dodged and unleashed a twenty-hit combo each punch carving craters into its face.

Then snap its tongue lashed out, wrapping around him.

 "Thomas!" Luke screamed.

The centipede swallowed him whole.

Luke fired arrow after arrow one striking the demon's eye. It shrieked, turned toward him

Then froze.

Its body convulsed. And with a final shudder

 Thud.

It collapsed.

Luke stared, stunned.

From the demon's mouth, Thomas emerged unscathed, glowing.

"Didn't see that coming," he laughed.

Luke exhaled. "So that's the power."

Thomas smirked. "Hope it didn't disappoint."

A voice rumbled.

 "It did not. At all."

They turned.

A towering figure stood above them 9 feet tall, crowned in bone and scars. Muscles like stone. A skull mask. A war hammer slung over his shoulder.

"you seem fun to kill," he said, voice deep and cruel.

"I am the Lord of Violence."
